For those of you who are interested in it (and haven't already found it on Facebook or elsewhere), go over to http://vimeo.com/channels/donrosatour to have a look at my four-part (plus one outtake) tour of Don Rosa's studio and house, hosted by Don himself.
Comments are always welcome. ;)

What an absolutely wonderful look into the creative homestead of Mr. Rosa. It would be rather nice to have your own woods, pond and so on like that. It would be very private and quiet. I found many similarities between his digs and my own, albeit on a much smaller scale. I also have a bit of a studio with the "life size" limited 250-piece Scrooge statue residing, a massive libray, film collection and art collection I enjoy.
The one portion of the film struck me because my young son has gone to sleep to the Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" album for years (as I've passed it to him,) and Don has it playing the background in the library. It really shows that one's taste in unrelated things can align with a style you truly enjoy. Great documentary. I'd really love to visit him sometime and just hang. Such a beautiful abode.

Great! I liked to see his studio. But how can he have such a huge land and house?
Good to see he likes Miles Davis' Kind of Blue.

While Don's home and land are certainly beautiful, it's not particularly unusual for people in this part of the country to own very large plots of land.

It was very interesting to listen what Don have to say about the different things, like the table and his old comics he made as a kid etc. One thing I wonder though is what happened to the "Life and times of Don Rosa" documentary, is it going to be released?

It will come out this month at Danish comic expert Thomas Schrøder's publishing house, Forlaget Afart. See http://forlaget-afart.dk/life-and-times-of-don-rosa for more information.

Yes, that was interesting. He called the documentary "rather poor".

No offense, but are you sure you didn't misunderstand him?

So what did YOU hear then? I am pretty sure because I even skipped back and watched him saying it again.

No. Don isn't happy with how the film turned out. He thinks it's nicely filmed but he doesn't like the narrative value of the documentary. Things are mixed up and partly out of context (we e.g. see Don seemingly destroying trees somewhere in the woods etc. ... without being told that it's actually his own garden and that he's repairing damage done by an ice storm) or even completely missing. So yes, he's actually calling it a "rather poor documentary" in the third episode of the house tour.

I haven't listened to it. I'm in the middle of writing a very time-consuming story, so I haven't had time to listen to all 86 minutes of that house tour. (Same reason I haven't commented on a couple other threads here.) I just thought Don Rosa liked that documentary and was surprised to see you state otherwise.
EDIT: OK, now I've looked at that scene. Yes, he does say it.
Great house. Are those Marco Rota drawings on Don's T-shirt?

Yes, I understand you. If you were the one who said it and I hadn't watched it yet, I probably wouldn't believe you either. While he was speaking about the documentary being rather poor and not clear about what he was saying, I thought that was kind of sad... But I think none of us have seen it, so we'll see.
You are writer of very time-consuming stories for Donald Duck? And editor, too? I thought that didn't go together that well!

I haven't been an editor since I worked on the school paper many moons ago. And I also write things that aren't "very time-consuming". :)
