Fearing I might have missed comments on this earlier on the forum, I wonder if there are news out there on the continuation of the DVD series "Walt Disney Treasures". News on "Wave 10" for instance!

It is delayed (might even have been canceled?) for what I know...
... three features are released meanwhile - "Waking Sleeping Beauty" - "Walt & el Groupo" and "The Boys - the Sherman Bros. Story"

I've bought WSB and can only recommend it; lots of behind the scenes and factualities ...
The two others are about the WD trip to South America - "the Good Neighbor"-travel in 1941-42, when the European marked got lost
- and the story behind all the good music produced by the Sherman-brothers.

Thanks a lot for sharing that information, Hedberg!
Let's hope Disney still intend to complete what they started, spite what is maybe less interest than they expected. One might try asking Leonard Maltin, who probably knows?

A friend of mine spoke with Leonard Maltin at a film festival in Syracuse. The series has been discontinued.

Yes, no wave has come out in December 2010 already. I hope it'll be recontinued one day. I'm sure Leonard Maltin would like to see that too. Oh, and a cd release of the 1943 song "Hop on your pogo stick". He mentioned he wanted it on the Goofy dvd.

Thanx, guys for all the info. I also received a pm including links to three websites referring to the comments Hedberg brought on, that might be of interest:

That's sad! I really liked the collection and don't have all DVDs. But the prices at Amazon are now far too high: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_16?url=search-alias%3Ddvd&field-keywords=disney+treasures&sprefix=disney+treasures :(

Can anyone confirm that the German DVDs "Micky Maus in schwarz-wei? Vol. 1" have some quality issues? Someone at Amazon says you can't watch three cartoons and one has always a subtitle.

Well, I'm sad too.
The fact that I didn't buy the ones I don't know (and has no childish relation to) is perhaps the nucleus of failure in the overall Disney release-policy.
The whole Zorro-series (some episodes were, though!), Spin and Marty, a lot of the Disneyland, the Mickey Mouse Club, etc. wasn't aired in Denmark and hence I (and the whole population in Denmark) have no relation to these series.
But historically they deserve a broader acknowledgment...

I've haven't seen a single episode of the Disneyland TV series*, but I know exactly where to get the dvd's (a comic con in the end of summer) and those dvd's are the one I'm going to get first!

*I've seen 0.5 episodes. The Pirates of the Caribbean bit on the "Curse of the Black Pearl" dvd.
Oh, and a part of "The Great Cat Family" on the Aristocats dvd. So I suppose that makes about 0.9 episodes.

A friend owned the Tomorrow Land set, so I watched that--some really neat, unconventional animated sequences; along with a number of less-interesting live-action segments, featuring various former Nazis, about possibilities for future space travel.
