I'd really love to get my hands on a physical copy of this, but there's no listings on ebay.fr and I don't know where else to get it affordably in America. Anyone know of any way to get it?

If you have a friend in eastern Canada (somewhere where there are French newsstands--note, not comic book stores!), have them check for you. When my friend in Toronto picked up a Picsou for me last year, he found that it appeared in the local French newsstand *several months* after the cover date!! So SPG 186 might actually be on the shelves now in Canada. It's a complete mystery to me why there's such an extreme lag-time.
This won't help you on this particular quest, but when looking for older French Disney comics you can always check ebay.ca (Canada). Occasionally someone in Canada will sell used Disney comics. (Some French sellers who list on ebay.fr also list on ebay.ca, but there's no advantage to ordering a comic from France via Canada's ebay as opposed to France's.)

I'd be curious about that as well. I visit family in Belgium every year(some of whom live in the French speaking area of that country. including Brussel), and I have seen no evidence of a second hand market for Disney comics, as there certainly is for The Franco-Belgian genre of comic books and albums (and graphic novels). I've been in hundreds of book stores, kiosks and antiquariates there, and some in Northern France as well, looking for French printings of my stories, and almost never have seen used Disney comics. I've also asked some of my French Disney pen friends if they could find my stories for me (in Journal de Mickey and Super Picsou Géant), and they informed me that there is no real 2nd hand collectors' market for French Disney comics. They have only found me a couple of my almost 30 printings. I have NEVER seen a used Journal de Mickey, and only a handful of "Super Picsou Géant" in the hundreds of shops I looked. I have seen a few "Picsou Magazine" (but not even remotely in the big numbers I had hoped). I have lost hope of obtaining all my stories printed in French comics (that I can do in the Scandinavian, Dutch, Finnish and even Italian comics). And, I don't need to buy them from a Canadian firm for shipment to USA. I could buy from a French website or dealer, and have them shipped from France to me in The Netherlands or Germany.
Have you looked for a French online used comics sales website?

The Delcampe Luxembourg site offers French-language Disney comics. Some are for sale and some are for auction. They have quite a few Picsou magazines and you can also sign up to be put on a "watch list" so you will be notified when new issues become available.

But wait---there's more! According to the French Disney Comics page at the Disney Comics Worldwide site, subscriptions to three titles, including Picsou, are available through Amazon.com in the United States. Details are in the cute li'l pink box at:

Thanks for the delcampe link, I'll keep monitoring that. As for the Amazon subscriptions, I do recall seeing that before, although at a high price, but now the links just lead to 404s.

Those 404s are probably making AzureBlue more blue. I'll give you another source. From the United States, a one-year subscription to Super Picsou Géant is available from UNI-Presse for 41.08 ?¬. That's the equivalent of $46.

Even though that still doesn't solve my quest for 186, that's a deal I can totally get behind. I'll have to be weighing a subscription to that right now-- if the IDW titles weren't coming out, I would definitely opt for that, but with the cost of those it'll be a tough decision.
