Regarding Don Rosa's not being involved with the Boom Donald Duck Treasury and not making money off it.
I was first angry and decided I would not support this book since Don's not getting money or royalties from it.
Then I figured I'd do something different -- I'm going to buy the book -- and send Don Rosa a check for part of the book - say half of the book or a big portion of it - that way he'll receive something from it. It's not a lot by any means but at least he'll have made some money from it - if we look at it in this respect.
If there's a few people out there who know where I can send him a letter or who can forward a letter to him that would be great - I wouldn't want to invade his privacy.

While I have no doubt that the sentiment is appreciated, it's not really a matter of money, as I understand it, so much as it is of principle. The idea, as I understand it, is this: publishers worldwide reprint his stuff constantly, and he's resigned to never seeing a cent of profit from this as long as they refrain from specifically using his name to sell product. Which boundary Boom is not respecting. Why they are unable to reach an amicable agreement I couldn't quite say, but I think if you want to support Rosa financially, the best way would be to go see him at a convention and buy a print or three.
