Not Disney but close enough I think...
As some of you might know Carl Barks' stories featuring Barney Bear, Benny Burro, Porky Pig, Happy Hound and Droopy will be collected in a deluxe hardcover in Scandinavia soon. Have posted some teasers on my blog that you might enjoy seeing.

An English collection is coming this May:

Are the stories worth owning? I read only one story a while ago.

Oh, thanks for the notice. I will have to get it when it's out.
Worth owning? It's Barks. Period. Man, I would even buy a book with blank white pages if it only was original blank white pages of Barks.
Seriously: Judging from the unfinished German edition from the year dot of the Bear stuff, I can say that he stories are good "funnies" if one considers the lesser potential of the characters in comparison with the richly developed world of the Ducks (richly developed in the work of many years by Carl Barks of course!). And it is interesting to see Barks plowing on foreign soil and to compare the fruits from there with those that we know and love from there.

I just pre-ordered it on Amazon Germany.
I'm looking forward to see his early work and compare it to the great duck stories.

It's interesting how some panels look like ones from duck stories. Some in this story remind me of Vacation Time
