An interesting new development, Boom! will be publishing original DuckTales story in their own book starting in May. The books will be written by Epic Mickey video game designer Warren Spector and drawn by Miquel Pujol, who's been drawing Disney comics for over 30 years.
The new book will apparently be in continuity with Boom!'s Darkwing Duck series.

That is good news.

Really? Miquel Pujol? So are these new stories going to be as bizarre as the "Uncle Scrooge's Treasure Chest" series? Regardless, an interesting development. I'm glad, at any rate, that they're through half-assing the Ducktales line with a hodgepodge of old stories from the eighties and nineties.

Damn! I was hoping "Tale Spin" would be the new revival. "Ducktales" books have already been released not long ago. Well I guess there's always next time?

I'd be surprised if we didn't see Tailspin in the not-so-distant future, given how popular these cartoon revivals are proving. But I think it's only fair that Ducktales get a proper revival--unlike with Darkwing Duck and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Boom has not commissioned new Ducktales material until now. I think the flagship Disney Afternoon show deserves better than that.

Warren Spector had been begging Disney for the Ducks for a new videogame, I guess they might use this as a test to see if the ducktales brand is still popular and then give him the green light for a game.

Awesome news. At the risk of sounding like a shill, can we start giving BOOM some props?
I admit that some of their early efforts were more miss than hit for me, but they are on a pretty nice roll right now. They are pretty communicative with the fan base and they are at least trying to give the fans something new. If someone were told you that you'd have a chance to enjoy new Ducktales, Darkwing Duck and Rescue Rangers stories, on top of Scrooge, WDCS, Donald and Mickey, you'd either be thrilled or pissed at the person for making you think it was 1992 again.
On a different note, I'd love to see a new Ducktales game. Don't know if it will happen after the letdown that apparently was Epic Mickey, but one can hope. At this point I'd settle for Disney releasing the last DVD volumes of the Disney Afternoon series' they left hanging.

I want it to be an action-adventure-type game, in which you have to plumb the depths (and heights) of ancient ruins via a mixture of platforming and puzzle-solving. Different characters would have different specialties, and often they would have to work together to get where they're going. Also, puzzles have multiple solutions. Make it happen, Warren!

One game (PC) I fondly remember as being one of my favorites, is Donald Duck Goin' Quackers (Donald Duck Quack Attack for Europeans).

I have that game for the Nintendo 64. Donald Duck in Going Quackers.
