I've read this good story in the american version, translated by David Gerstein.
I've noticed two things_
- Goofy is here called Goofus (D. Dawg) and his cousin Moofy (Moofus), Doofy (Doofus), Toofy (Toofus) and Dogueberry.
- Mickey mentions his sister, MF's mother.
Dave, have you -somehow- been influenced by this forum choosing that? In the original/italian version, Goofy's relatives had "famous" names: Feynpipp, Pipstein, Pipton and Pippedison, why have you changed this idea?
The name Dogueberry (instead of a possible "Goofton") sounds like "Dawg-Barry (/-berry)". What's the surname of this english relative?

I got it!
Dogberry (note the spelling) is the chief of the messinian police in Shakespeare "Much Ado about Nothing". It's likely that David turned it in "Dogue-" to make it sounds as "Dawg".
