Here's Boom's offerings for February:
http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/1011/24/boomfeb.htm
There's a LOT of promising stuff there. US400 Looks outstanding! Does anyone have a shot of the entire image for Don's cover?
Even DD363 looks great. Bit of a slip-up though on the never-before-seen status of that "Mystery of the Loch" cover though. ;) And I wasn't aware Jippes had re-drawn "Somewhere Beyond Nowhere". Definitely looking forward to checking that out.
I'll even be picking up WDC&S. I don't think I even have a print copy of "Rival Beachcombers"!
Keep it up Boom!

Good stuff generally--I'm psyched that DD263 is gonna feature that Geoffrey Blum story--but I have no choice but to call bullshit on that redrawing of "Somewhere in Nowhere." You could make a case that the work by Kay Wright and Tony Strobl on those old Barks woodchucks stories was subpar, but DUDE--"Somewhere in Nowhere." Patrick Block. Who is an excellent artist. And who actually consulted personally with Barks on the story. I know Jippes was the first choice to draw the story, but Block's results leave nothing to be desired. And especially given that he's done so tragically little total duck-work...I'm just not AT ALL down with retroactively removing him from the picture. Dammit.

Actually, this is not a redrawn version. It's an all new version called "Somewhere beyond Nowhere".

Regarding "Somewhere in Nowhere": Carl Barks had originally conceived it as a ten-pager. Due to too many cooks involved, however, the story got somehow out of hands and ended up at 28 pages.
The writer, John Lustig, was never really happy with it. So he decided to give it another try some years ago, this time keeping as closely as possible to Carl's outline. The result is "Somewhere Beyond Nowhere". And I think John (as well as Daan Jippes) did a fine job.
I'm not saying that the first version drawn by Pat Block is bad. It definitely has its merits, but it also has some flaws. And, as Joakim pointed out, it was a quite different approach.

Does anyone know what makes the Deluxe editions different from the standard ones? Besides the covers of course. :-)

Well, I only have Mickey Mouse #300 to go by, but the cover is really it. The inside contents were the same. The cover of MM 300B was a thicker stock, embossed, and the logo was printed in metallic ink. Honestly, I'm not sure it was worth the extra $3, but I bought it anyway :D

Actually?!
I've that in Italian, it's a good story which narrates an interview amongst a lady journalist and the great Maestro Carl Barks (1901-2000).
In the story, Barks' drawing a picture, does that picture actual exist?

I don't think so (the Beagle Boys don't appear) but it's a remake of a recurring motif of his paintings:
