Starting now, members can contribute again to McDrake's International Disney Comics Forum.
Self-registering is still turned off. But, people who want to become a member can e-mail to "(Email removed)".

We are trying to get discussions going again. This is NOT to duplicate discussions going on on THIS forum, nor is it intended to "steal" participation form this forum. It is only to provide a second outlet for International Disney Comics discussion, and provide an extra place these discussions and fan-related activities (drawing. storywriting, collecting, etc.) can be seen and discussed.

We feel that perhaps Dutch readers on McDrake.NL may get interested in International Disney discussion by taking a casual look at McDrake International, when they might be hesitant to, or not take the trouble to go directly to DCF. This may broaden the participation in DCF, in the long run.

It may be possible that some Dutch McDrakers might not know about DCF, and only first discover its existence on McDrake International, IF DCF members post there (and, thus, DCF is mentioned there).

Is it back again? Great, it's been unused for 2 years or so.

McDuck Menu and I have made new posts on a thread there that was started by Carl Barks' granddaughter, and discusses Peter Kylling's website (www.cbarks.dk) that displays all the "Carl Barks Collection's" articles by people who knew Carl Barks, but also has printed the original complete articles (in the cases of oversized before they were cut down by Egmont, due to size restrictions).
My own article includes a few large paragraphs that were not included in Egmont's printing, that recount anecdotes of experiences with Carl Barks from my visits with him. The same is true for a few others of the Egmont articles. I believe (not completely positive) that there are also other articles from people who had known Barks that didn't appear at all in "The Carl Barks Collection".
These articles are well worth reading. They give insight into the characters of Carl and Garé Barks, and tell the stories of ordinary fans (like you), meeting the Great Master.

You also might want to check out the "Fanfiction" thread. I've uploaded a few new drawings there. You've seen all of those here (and on the regular McDrake "Fanfictie" threads, BUT, there are drawings from French and Scandinavian artists that DON'T appear on this or McDrake's regular forum "Fanfiction" threads.

That sounds interesting. Can you give a deep link or a hint for the menu? I can't find the "Carl Barks Collection's" articles at first sight.

They used to be listed under the heading: "The Meetings". But now, other meetings that Barks had on his European tour are intermeshed with the early fan meetings. You can run through that list and find "The Meetings-Tank", The Meetings-Stajano, The Meetings-Boatner, The Meetings-Klein, and so on, and read them one by one.
"The Lost Story" has an article by me about What Carl told me about his "Queen of the Apple Festival/Golden Apples shelved story from 1952, including page 1 of my drawn version.
