Dutch Duckfan some of these issues are Disney Comics even though not all of them are. I just happened to stumble across it Charlie Brown.

I know some issues are Disney, but it's not exactly a full-Disney series. There are about 1000 issues without Disney comics.

You are right Dutch. There are at least a 1000 issues. I'm surprised it ran for that long.

It only ran for 20 years. It had 1354 issues, with some left unpublished when Dell stopped. Yes, I know my oldies... :)

There were a lot of high-quality "funny animal" comics in the Four Color series (Warner Bros.:-Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, (related to Loony Tunes); Tom & Jerry (related to Our Gang); Walter Lantz (Woody Woodpecker), Animal Comics (Pogo & Albert, Uncle Wiggly), and others, other than Disney. I don't think it would have mattered to me if there were 1,000 more US Disney Comics between 1942 and 1962 written by lesser writers and drawn by lesser artists. I would have spent a little more money, and then thrown out a few hundred less comic books if the entire Four Color series had been Disney, rather than other funny animal, and "live action" books (cowboy/westerns, etc.).

Maybe they should do a series that is similar to the Four Color series except that it should be all Disney Characters. They could call it Disney Comics All Stars or something like that.
