I'm searching for information about Rip van Donald, a Barks ten-pager. In the story, Huey Dewey and Louie pull a prank on Donald, and make him believe he's been sleeping for 40 years! Donald awakes in the obscure future year of 1990...
...or so says the original. Throughout the years and around the globe this story has been reprinted a lot, coming colser and closer to 1990. So, the editors decided to change the dates in the story. Where one story says 1990, another says 2000, and yet another one says 2026. I want to make a list, as complete as possible, the lists all the dates of publication and the apparent date Donald has woken up in. If no specific year is menioned, tell for how long Donald has been sleeping and put the date in brackets after it.
Please don't rely on Inducks scans. I know they're right, but if you've read it in the comic it's just that bit more reliable.
So far, the only date I "know" is from the original:

Thanks! That's actually of the times that because of staying faithful to the original, they featured a year that already had passed! But then again, those are all Barks libraries - most of the time only for hardcore fans.
Good thing also that the English WDCSinC stayed faithful. Inducks scans show that later publications in WDC prove otherwise. Note how in Tollsten Geschichten 97 the time passed is reduced to 24 (probably 25 when they were translating it) years, where the original says 40. Some even say 50 years.

There is no doubt that the editor would suit the year to the calendar if the story would be published again in a magazine. The Dutch tranlation speaks of Sleeping Beauty, she slept "very long". Rip van Winkle was a Dutch immigrant in the original story by the way.

In the Danish Anders And & Co. 1950/12 it was 1990, later reprints (exept HCs) had no year mentioned: 1968/48 (2008), AA Album 13, 1981 (2021). BTW the 1950 edition had a small text beneath the panels about RVW.

In the Italian and in the American version as well, the year is 1990(s).
