Topic: Favorite covers featuring Donald

OK, I decided I needed to start two other favorite-cover threads, if only to honor a wider variety of artists. Here are the rules for this one: covers featuring Donald, possibly with HD&L, but not Scrooge. Could be from any title (DD, DDA, WDC, etc.) If HD&L appear, they are along for the ride; the focus is not on their action (for that, see my HD&L cover thread!) I'm listing my top ten. Those of you who don't like to winnow, please keep it under 25! :-)

These are grouped by artist, but in no particular order of preference.

DDA 15 G Mad Chemist--William Van Horn
DDA 47 G Trick or Treat--William Van Horn
WDC 570 Donald delivering Valentine in blizzard--William Van Horn
WDC 682 Blowhards--William Van Horn

DDFC 223 Lost in the Andes--Barks
DDA 14 G The Mummy's Ring--Barks

DD 109 Og's Iron Bed--artist not known for sure, thought to be Strobl (here is one of the few cases where I like the original coloring, on the bluish-green background, better than Gemstone's)

DDA 34 D Super Snooper Strikes Again--Rosa (I love the view of Duckburg in the background. Though I think the colorist must have been European, since the mailbox is red! American mailboxes are blue. It was clever how they put the "Adventures" of the logo on the blimp, keeping it from cluttering up the cover.)

WDC 48 Donald in sleeping bag with Flower-like skunk sitting on him--Walt Kelly

DD 339 Ancient Persia--Jippes--great color scheme!

My runners-up are both Jippes': DD 248 Forbidden Valley (amazing how much of the story he got onto one not-overcrowded cover!) and DD 344 Loup Garou (I also like the fact that Gemstone left off the "and friends" in the logo for this, their last issue; it makes for a cleaner and more classic look).
