The art looks like Flemming Andersen.
How thoroughly bizarre.

Not nearly as weird as it seems - according to the Inducks, only the covers and a one-pager are related to the royal family.

I thought this one was even weirder :

Here's the Queen of Denmark as a Disney bird (looks more like a chicken beak than a duck beak)...I think this cover is really charming. Though I'm not entirely clear why the statue of the Little Mermaid is transmogrified, not just into a merduck, but into a merduck from the Far East....

If that link doesn't work (as Arnaud's did not, for me), the INDUCKS number is D/DK 2010-003.

She looks to be the same kind of bird as Gryo.

Blame Egmont, not me ! :D

I have only the deepest respect for any reigning queen who will allow herself to be portrayed as a Disney chicken!
Thanks for re-posting my link and yours, Arnaud. I forgot about that step you have to go through here to post a link.

Egmont have done a lot parodies of celebreties lately. Mostly people well known in Scandinavia, but maybe not-so-known in the rest of the world.

Personally I'm not a big fan of this. But it's probably one of the "creative ideas" to try to keep the circulation number from dropping even more. We have seen big drops in Disney comcis sales in Europe the last years. Every time they do one of those parodies, they do get some media coverage about it.

It wasn't unusual in the eighties for pop stars to be drawn like ducks :
Paperino Mese Covers n°91 to n°110 mostly
In Picsou Magazine around 1998 - 1990, every singer featured in the music articles was drawn as a duck (probably by Patrice Croci). Madonna, Michael Jackson, MC Hammer... Much bewildering !
I can't find any example right now but this cover is in the same spirit : Picsou Magazine n°197
Matilda : I haven't figured yet what was the problem with our links but you may need to desactivate the smilies
