I personally doubt it, but does anyone know if any of the European Disney characters, such as Fethry, ever appear at Disneyland Paris?

No. Even Scrooge is not there. Most characters are from the cartoons. Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, Gepetto, Pluto, etc.

I'm gonna be a pest and point out that Fethry is really an American character. (-:
Sure; he didn't appear much in his country of origin until Gemstone brought him back on a regular basis, but that doesn't change the fact that he was born in California (even if he's "really" from Calisota!).

Well yeah, Fethry's an American character, but he's featured so much more in European comics that some tend to lump him into the European category (maybe because of that one ridiculous family tree that tried to claim he didn't exist?).
It would have been nice, though. They really should have more characters appear in the parks.

Yeah, but there's so many of them. Now I have to admit, the characters from Pinocchio shouldn't be all there, but who should? There are so many catagories!
-old cartoons
-Disney Channel
-US, Danish and Dutch comics
-Italian comics
-Brazilian comics
-"Disney classics" movies
-other movies
-Pixar
-A lot more!
Now let's take one character from every catagory. And there are so many charaters in every catagory! There's Ben Franklin from 1954, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, Flintheart Glomgold, Bum Bum Ghigno, Joe Caricoa's nephews, than there's Ratigan, the time travellers from Minute Men, Buzz Lightyear, and an infinite list of other characters. And I think there's a whole world of people not knowing who Fethry or neighbor Jones or Uncle Scrooge is. When I met Honest John and Gideon at DLP, I had no idea who these guys were!

I want Merlin Jones to make an appearance. Preferably alongside Herbie, Dexter Riley, the Shaggy Dog/D.A., the Apple Dumpling Gang (both incarnations) and the twins from "Escape to Witch Mountain".

Lars - It would certainly be possible in WDW if Disney was interested (WDW is the size of Manhattan island). ;)
Dutch Duckfan - Over at DLP where they don't have all that space, I'd say add some of the more popular major characters from European titles, maybe one most well known from each project (such as Pipwolf representing X-Mickey, for example).

I'd say Duck Avenger representing Italy, Oona representing Denmark, the "Duckies" representing the Netherlands and "James Ding" or Michel Souris representing France.
And yes, I'd love to see Merlin Jones etc. brought to life again. I'm still hoping Disney will use the "female Herbie" Gloria in a future Herbie movie. (Unless she was in the 2005 movie -- I haven't seen that one yet.)

Don't forget, Herbie once had a love interest car named Gazelle by the end of that film ("Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo"). ;)

I don't remember her name. But yeah, I do remember he got himself a girlfriend there. :)
Wonder why they didn't use Gloria in that movie...
(To my knowledge, Gloria has only appeared in a live show.)

Can I take that as confirmation that Pixar is working on a new Herbie movie?!
(Yes, I'm trying to start a rumour.)
