Recently I've become very interested in the stories that were done by Romano Scarpa. I haven't read a lot of his stories but I still love his style and stories. One of the things I like about him the most is that he was so creative and he made many interesting characters for the Disney universe. I've been able to find out about some of these characters from INDUCKS, Wikipedia and the comics released in North America, but there still some I probably don't know about. So if you'd like to add anything about their personalities or memorable stories etc. then please do so because I'd love to know!! :)

Have you gotten his Danish "Hall of Fame" book? I believe it has also been published in Germany. If you read German, then it would be a good investment. Have you seen all the Gladstone and Gemstone printings of his stories? There arent too many, but, at least those are printed in English.
I prefer his "Mouse Universe" to his "Duck Universe", because of the artwork. I think his Mouse stories are very much in the Gottfredson vein. I don't like is artwork for Duck stories. But his self-written stories are wonderful, and he has used good writers, too. I read and enjoy his Duck stories, too (as the stories, themselves, are often very high quality).
I don't see a lot more stories of his than The US printings, as The normal-page sized Dutch books don't print many of his stories, and I don't buy the pocket books. I hope they will start printing Scarpa's stories in the bigger format, and I hope Gemstone will print a lot more of his early long Mouse stories.

I've got some of the stories published by Gemstone and none of the ones by Gladstone (but I'm planning on buying some). I've heard of the "Hall of Fame" series too but I don't read German so that'd be problem. :P So I guess you could say I'm a newbie when it comes to Scarpa.

Here following are 3 of his Mouse stories printed in Gladstone Comics:
"The Blot's Double Mystery" was reprinted in Gladstone's Mickey & Donald 6, 7 and 8. It was originally published in Italian Topolino in 1955.

"Kali's Nail" was reprinted in Gladstone's Mickey Mouse 254 and 255, originally in Topolino 183, in 1958.

Sorry I didn't get to say thanks yesterday Robb so I'll say it now...THANKS. :) The stories look very interesting. Well I guess we should be getting on topic again. Here's a list of characters I know about so far (but not their personalities etc.)
Gideon McDuck: Scrooge's half-brother. He's also works for a newspaper in Duckburg.
Pappo: Goofy's brother. Lives in Africa(?)
Atomo Bleep-Bleep: Has now been seen in NA. An intelligent atomo who has the ability to turn one substance into something else. (Mickey's gun into chocolate)
Signor Bunz: Showed up in NA by Gladstone and that was his only story too. Very hairy and is said to be good with computers.
Aunt Topolinda: Mickey's aunt. Seems to be like a mother figure to him.
Trudy: Pete's girlfriend and partner in crime. Smarter then Pete.
Zenzero: An 8th dwarf that Scarpa made. Name in English means Ginger!?!
Brigitta MacBridge: We should all know who this is by now. :) :P
Jubal Pomp: Showed up in NA recently. Tries to be better than Scrooge trying to trick him etc.
Beb Bubbola: Don't know anything about him.
Codino: A seahorse in a "Silly Symphony" like story.
Kildarde Coot: One weird as heck duck.
Cavillo Busillis: A lawyer.
Dickie Duck: Goldie's granddaughter and maybe even Scrooge's (!!!). Very, very, VERY interested in her character. Has showed up in some none Scarpa stories in NA.
Bruto: Ellsworth's adopted son. Became Mickey's partner in Scarpa's later stories. Interested in this character too.
Portis: Pete's very smart cousin.
The Ducklieans: A group of alien ducks. Lead by King Duckliean and his niece Zilia.
Zenobia: An African Queen that fell in love with Goofy.
Re Arbour: A green haired person from the 7 Dwarves stories.
There are other people (like the ones on the "A Topolino...dal suo amico Romano Scarpa" poster) that I may have missed. So if you'd like to add anything please do so. :)

No, I'm 100% sure she isn't related to Scrooge.

To each their own. :P Atleast he was nice enough to treat her as an extra part of the family (or atleast that's how I saw it)

Wonder who the parents are. Scrooge's will may be even bigger than he'd like to think.

Wow! That's quite an impressive list of own characters created! I've only read stories with a handful of them. So, it seems that I have a lot of enjoyment ahead of me, if more of them get printed in English or Dutch. I really hope Gemstone will print a lot of his stories, especially without serialising them (perhaps putting them intact in their special books).

Yeah I agree it's impressive. It shows that Scarpa had a LOT of ideas for Disney comics. I also hope that more of these characters will be showed in English but only time will tell.

This Scarpa relict
http://coa.inducks.org/s.php?c=I+DAO+++5-1
has just been published in Germany, but only 16 pages of it. According to the Inducks, it should be 18. I wonder if it's been edited or if there's an Inducks mistake?

What's the story behind this comic? Why dialog is rewritten and half page is missing? Lost and newly found stuff?

Yes, that's how I understand it. From the looks of it, it dates from ca. 1987/88, I'd say (Del Conte still did the inking).

For what it's worth, the art was hand-dated 1985 by Scarpa himself, so we know for sure.
