Hello everybody,
I'm Italian but living in Hungary for 2 years. I noticed that there are Disney's magazines here, but for chidren Mickey Mouse it's not a fundamental part of the growth as it is in Italy. I can't read the Hungarian language yet, so I only checked it the magazines at the news stand and I noticed that aren't the names of the authors. I'm trying to find out if stories are translated (and if so from which country) or if there are Hungarian Disney's drawres. Does anybody know anything about it? Thanks!

When I bought some Hungarian Disney Comics (in the early 1990s) the stories had been taken from Danish production. IF The Hungarians now also have pocketbooks, I imagine that they are taken from both Danish and Italian production.

Here's a partial online index of DONALD KACSA MAGAZIN, a Hungarian Disney comic that was published at least as recently as last year:

Judging from the issues that are indexed in full (example: 2007-09), we're seeing a mixture of Egmont (Danish) stories??and non-Egmont stories in the versions that Egmont prepared (i. e. Dutch stories with Egmont's color).
So it looks to me like at least as of fairly recently, Hungary was an "Egmont country" and filled its comics with material supplied by Egmont.

Donald Casca Magazin is the equivalent of a second issue of the Polish "Kaczor Donald" where since 1997 are written by authors of each story.

Egmont was a giant of the sector in Italy too, in the past. It`s so strange to me that here Mickey Mouse is not popular..Thank you for your answers!

I believe that the bi-weekly Donald Kacsa Magazin in Hungary was canceled in December 2009. It was replaced with a new pocket book titled "Donald Kacsa Zsebkönyv" (http://www.wolfstad.com/dcw/hungary/donald-kacsa-zsebkonyv/)
