I just got finished reading some Topolino issues I just got my hands on, and there appears to be an interesting situation going on with Indiana Goof.
They usually have him going girl-crazy in most of his other stories, but he also has this friend, a redheaded lady archeologist named Martina, and from what I can tell so far, she appears to be possibly interested in him romantically but he is completely oblivious to it (a spoof on the Indiana Jones films?).
For example, in one story (a frame from it showing her is here: http://coa.inducks.org/character.php?c=Martina+Ubersetzen) when they are on a boat travelling off to their next destination and leaning on the rail together, the following conversation takes place.
Her (gazing off into the sunset): "Wow, the thought of just doing all this... isn't it all so romantic?"
Him (next to her): "Yes, that smell from the galley smells great, doesn't it?"
Her (irritated): "INDIANA! I said ROMANTIC, not AROMATIC!"
Him: "Oh! Excuse me."
Her (wistfully): "Besides, that's just ordinary food. What I'd really love to experience is a delightful fancy dinner at some restaurant... (starts listing off fancy foods she'd like)"
Him (like he's going to be sick): "URP!"
Her (furious): "INDIANA!!"
Him; "Oh! Excuse me."
And so on and on. At least it sure seems to me she's romantically interested in him, but I haven't seen her in enough stories to tell for sure.

Oh, yeah! I forgot about her, I remember her now.
So that may explain why he's so oblivious to Martina's apparent interest; although it doesn't explain at all his insistance on going berserk over every cute girl he continues to meet.
Methinks with his true love interest being a fairy, he'd better watch himself or he may end up getting zapped. ;)
