There already was a discussion on inducks last year about death and Disney comics ; i quoted two examples of death :
1 - The death of the mad scientist in 'Donald contre Mister Moster' (Paperino e il misterioso Mister Moster) a good italian story released back in 1955, and the death of Scrooge in the highly strange (and in my opinion classic) story 'Donald de Picsou en l'an 2001' ( Paperino anno 2001 , 1961 for the first italian edition, an edition of this story was published in the second issue of the french Mickey Parade : 735 bis, 1966 , last story of the issue ) ; i can't help saying again something i commented in my email back a year ago : this is not a surprise if some scenes of death are encountered in the Don Rosa's stories, that is is due to the fact that a biographical approach of the ducks implies a dimension of time in the stories that doesn't normally exist in both the Mickey and Donald universes ; if you relate a story of a family through the time, you relate the death of his members too ; about Mickey, Olivier quoted two stories of Bill Wash/Gottfredson released during the second world war, but albeit some stories of Mickey didn't dealt overtly with death, death is however an undercurrent theme of them ; i think about a story like 'Mickey empereur de Calidornie' ( Topolino imperatore della Calidornia ) where we see an ancestor (or a so-called one) of Mickey very aged and near the end of his life ; one of the main themes (amongst numerous ones) of this story is the matter of the old age.

Great start, Ciro! The layout is clean and attractive with excellent use of
the navigation pane. I'm looking forward to seeing the site grow (unlike my
poor, stagnant, neglected $CROOGE McDUCK PAGE).

AND I VERIFY:

This is far from a hoax. I saw much of Don's collection at the Sand Diego
Comic-Con where it was on display, and the eBay listings are quite accurate
about the condition of the books. I know Don will not self-promote (the
eBay sales are being handled by a regular comic dealer), but I have no
problem offering this one-time assurance that the auctions are legitimate,
and the books are in the absolute best shape I have ever seen for used
comics.

This is not a sales pitch, just an answer to Poul's question. Readers know
whether they want to buy old comic books or not, and there is no need for me
to prod them.

I don't belive he is.First, If he hasn't talk shit in all interviews, he likes comics so much he couldn't sell them. And secondly, his stories have been so popular I can't imagine any money problems why he absolutley needed to sell them

No hoax -- a dealer friend in California is selling, on commission, all of
my comics from 1970-1990. Those are what I regard as the "new" comics from
an era that I care little about. Obviously I would be selling them
eventually in order to retire, but all of my dealer pals tell me that now is
the time to do so if I want to make more retirement money off the investors
in high grade comics (as mine were all bought off the stands and are in near
mint shape). I still certainly have all of my 1940-1969 comics and am still
constantly adding to that collection every day!
Also, to anticipate a question, no, I did not get rid of any of my
Gladstones due to my love of that company and as it's the product of my
friend Bruce Hamilton (RIP)... I'll never give those up. But I did dump all
of my "Disney Comics" (as the publisher) Disney comics, not caring to keep
those around. If someone wants "Don Rosa's personal Disney Comics
collection", the entire set to keep together, you should contact Steve Wyatt
through that link above. Those are very recent, dirt cheap comics -- I
wouldn't think they'd cost much (though he is setting the prices, I have
nothing to do with sales). (I guess there would be some issues that would
not be in there, such as the WDC&S issues that are part of the legitimate
numbered run which I shouldn't sell a section out of.) The comics he decided
to "slab" to sell to investors (NOT fans) are those from the early-mid 70's
that are scarcer in NM shape. (But he needs to improve his auction pics --
don't bother to suggest that to me, I've already written to him about that.
The auctions just started last Sunday night.)

The link takes you to ebay listings of comics being sold from Don Rosa's
collection.
He is selling only the comics from after 1970 and NOT his Disney comics.
The sale is being handled by a California dealer and friend of Don.
Many of the comics were displayed in San Diego.
