Interesting that they're using the Gemstone title logo.

i?m glad at least the US has Disney comics again... pity they do not
sell overseas... they only allow subscriptions from US... :(
in what has become such a niche market, sounds like a terrible idea..
i subscribe several american magazines that can also be considered not
mainstream and they have no problems in having european subscribers.
even more so with the current euro-dollar rate, it?s 50% cheaper to me
to subscribe them and i took the chance to renew for several years
just in case the euro goes down again.
postal service is now fast, reliable and cheap enough to make it
commonplace... which amazes me even more so why they won?t accept
non-us subscribers... maybe it is a Disney restriction?

Note that Boom *does* offer international subscriptions, but it is unreasonable
expensive: you have to pay $40 for just five issues!
For your information:
http://www.boom-studios.net/mickey-mouse-and-friends-296-299-subscription-cover-a-international-customers.html
http://www.boom-studios.net/walt-disney-comics-and-stories-699-702-subscription-cover-b-international-customers.html
There are a bunch of similar pages too. Boom makes two copies of each issue,
although with different covers, and you get to choose if you want cover A or
cover B (or both: $60 for five issues). Be careful to pick one of the options
for international customers!

Just thought I would comment on the first BOOM! issue of Mickey Mouse & Friends.
Overall, it looks like a pretty quality effort. The two covers are
nicely done and the paper quality is acceptable. The story itself,
being a fantasy-world type setting, is not my favorite, but it reminds
me of "World Of The Dragon Lords" which was actually pretty good and
held my young son's attention just as well as the traditional stories.
Anyone else pick up a copy?

Hi Stefan,
thanks for the information... i was actually at the BOOM website when
i saw the original post and did not find the international
subscriptions area. to be truthful, even after seeing your links, i
found that their website is really not very user friendly...
but more importantly, basically, anyone that wants to subscribe
Mickey+Donald pays 40$+40$ per 5 magazines each, right?
from what i saw on their website, they will send one magazine per
month? how does that work?
most of the magazines i receive from the US are 6 issues per year and
cost around 22$US for US subscribers or around 34$US for international
subscribers, which falls more or less in line with the BOOM prices...
the difference is that on the historynet.com magazines i receive
something with 100+ A4 pages in color, instead of a 14 page A5 comic....
Also, they do seem to have a better business model, with special
packages and discounts... because they do volume discounts for people
that subscribe more than one magazine, i ended up subscribing 2, then
3 and now i receive 4 different magazines... i?m a subscriber for 5
years already and i intend to keep renewing...
perhaps if BOOM made a 60$ Mickey+Donald subscription, i would
subscribe to both... as it is, 40$ to receive just one is not
interesting enough and 80$ to get both is too expensive...
