Does Don Rosa anwser his e-mails? I sent him an e-mail three days ago 19: 01 Danish time, but still no anwser... It is somehawt werid...

As I wrote here some time ago, Rosa wrote on an Italian forum that he only
reads and writes messages on that forum.
So I think he is not reading DCML anymore. I'm not sure about his private
mailbox.

I'm with Leo (and many, many others) in hoping there are talents making their way along the career track who will join Barks, Rosa and Van Horn in carrying on the legacy of the Disney Ducks in comics. It just doesn't appear that a career track of that sort exists here in the US anymore. Is it reasonable to hope such career tracks still exist in other climes than North America, in places (and markets) that nurtured the likes of Scarpa, Rota, Branca, Vicar, to name just a few of the greats who remain under-acknowleged over here?

Subject: Up and Coming Talent

I agree: Don Rosa was a most worthy heir to the legacy of the great Carl Barks! Is there anyone out there from a younger generation worthy to join them in a Trinity of sorts? I know that Don Rosa was very pessimistic about the future of comic books and comic stories in general.

But perhaps someone is waiting to join them in spite of the obstacles!

lock and key here in the USA.

If someone wanted to create new stories/art.. just how many hoops do
they have to jump through to even create a new comic containing a
Scrooge story?

Does a hobbyist (artist/story teller) have any rights to create something
that is not for sale but just to share?

For example, someone writes a nice 10 page Scrooge Story.
They then send the story to an artist who draws something up.
Using a cheap copy method they then create 50-100 comics and send
them out to others who wish to have one and those others just pay
for the shipping costs (say 5 bucks) to get it to them.

Would something like that run afowl of Disney?
