Why do we need a Facebook page?! I can't see a benefit of that.

I don't like those sites, which are very poorly laid out; you have to scroll around, click everywhere, wade through pointless messages to find nothing but lists or bits of discussion.
The only point I see of having such a page for Disney comics might be to direct here people who are looking for such a board, but usually limit their searches to those sites.

Exactly leading people here and to inducks and outducks would be the reason to have a group on facebook - it's the reason we donaldists have a group there - to lead people on to the webpage og our society. There are 4500+ fans of Don Rosa in a group on facebook - and many other fans in groups for Barks, Gottfredson, WDC and US - but the fact is that both groups and fangroups are simply a statement - it's not a forum or a newsgroup or a mailing list - people don't talk, they just browse around and see what their friends are doing.

Sounds interesting...though I'm not sure I've even been to Facebook.

I don't have a Facebook profile, and don't intend to get one either. As far as I can tell from looking over the shoulder of friends, it's an outright time-consuming menace. Besides that, I feel no need to tell the whole world what I am doing, all the time. I guess most people don't care anyway.
That said, since it seems that so many people are using Facebook these days, maybe AC is right. It might lead to more comics fans (and ventilators :)) getting to know about those websites/projects.

Facebook is only a time-consuming menace if you are unable to restrain yourself. Yes, there are lots of things one can spend time on, but none of them are obligatory. It's up to the user him-/herself to decide how to prioritize.
And even on Facebook you don't need to tell anyone what you are doing.

I know. But nevertheless that seems to be one of the favourite activities for users. As far as I remember, there's a field for writing what you are doing now. (silly) :-)

You're not going to hear me say this often, but here goes: Someone please slap me with a large trout! I recently gave in and joined Facebook, and it's a lot of fun. I turned off chat and all applications, since they seemed annoying to me. Next project was to restrain myself to only adding friends whom I know and like in real life, plus a few whom I like and maybe feel like I know from conversations in emails or newsgroups or chatrooms. So now it's a place for following my friends' lives, and for writing a subtle status message once a week or so, just for the fun of it.
