There are three large stories from the Gemstone era I belive should get the collection treatment:

* A hardcover version of World of the Dragonlords. I really think this story deserves it.
* A collected version of Mythos Island
* A collected version of The Shambor Quadrilogy (thanks Lars, was sleepy when I typed that out)

I am still under the impression that while The Orb Saga ended vey well, actually getting to that point was - at best - a schizophrenic mess when it came to consistency of the artwork and consistency of the story. The last parts were worth it (very well done conclusions), but getting there was a chore. :( On the opposite end, I felt the three stories I listed above have far more consistency to their storytelling, were better drawn and done so consistently, and would make very good and sellable trades.

* A Floyd Gottfredson library

The fact that only Italy has attempted a collection of dailies is IMHO shameful. Barks has had how many libraries now? This should have been attempted long ago, but for reasons of restoration I can understand why it hasn't been tried with the respect it deserves. Still, it's long overdue and I'd rather see this than a millionth rehash of the Barks stuff we've seen so many times before. Let the reissues come later.

* Some sort of Rosa collection

To be honest, I would rather see this in hardcover/trade format than have them reprinted ad nauseum in the main books like Gemstone used to do. (The stuff is still not that old). HOWEVER - i do agree that it really deserves to be collected in one spot. And since Rosa isn't doing anymore new stories, now's a good time to chronicle his old stuff.

Disney Era Material

* (Rescue Rangers) The King of Beasts Caper

IMHO out of all the Rangers serials, this and The Ghastly Goat of Quiver Moor (the 2 parter) were the only really good and consistent multipart stories from the RR run. Coast to Coast was a mess and the one about all the different animal teams REALLY stretched one's suspension of disbelief. I'd love to see For the Love of Cheese collected somewhere, but its only one part. Perhaps a best of trade or something? Either way, it's long overdue.

* (Talespin) Plunder and Lightning

Ironic that this was the only intro story out of all the Disney comics to get adapted into comic book form outside of the Darkwing Mini. But I think the art on that one was a mess. Anyway - pretty much all of the Disney Talespin stories were good and I think they'd genuinely make good trades all around.

* (Darkwing Duck) The Fluffy Trilogy

FLUFFY! :D :D :D :D :D :D

If you don't like Fluffy you're a dirty, dirty heathen and I don't like you. >8(

* The Legend of the Chaos God 5 Parter

This needs to be collected or reprinted. Nothing like it had been attempted (imitated maybe but not done for real) up to this point - at least for the America's. Sure it's a lot fluffier now, but I hear this story mentioned more often by casual Disney fans that grew up with Disney Adventures magazine more than anything else.

* An American "Hall of Fame" series

Seeing as how Boom likes doing hardcover trades, this would be the PERFECT IDEA for a series of them. Really I think I would kill for this. Plus it'd mean specific creators would finally get a spotlight on them with (maybe) supplemental info. Don't know how big Boom is on that.

I agree with Lars that TNT really needs to be collected (that other guy he mentioned is a doofus though :)). I'd like to see the Walt Disney Treasures series Gemstone started, continue. I'd also like to see a World War II collection as well, but that may be hard to pull off. Man wouldn't it be cool, though.

Wouldn't it be easier to get that stuff directly from its old publisher? Most of the CBLiC albums are still available in Gladstone's rag shop:

Yeah, but some of that stuff is really over-priced, with a number of albums sold out long ago. :)

And really, my preference lies vastly with Rosa and Van Horn collections at this point. That Hall of Fame Rosa hardcover should've been one of the first things Boom solicited.
