Quote from user: Lars JensenQuote from user: OlivierFor the first time I will not order one of the sets-- Annie.
You mean Annette, right?

Ah yes, of course. Thanks for the correction!

I recently purchased The Complete Goofy, but it did not include the booklet and art card that was supposed to come with it.
I was wondering if one of you nice people would send me good quality scans of the 8-page booklet and the front and back of the art card so that I could print me off a copy to put in my dvd case.
I have been contemplating purchasing the Disney Rarities and Silly Symphonies Vol. 2 sets. What are your opinions on the content of these two.

I'm about to get really mad. I have purchased several of the "tin-series" but now, it seems US-customs or postals have alianized Denmark! I can't buy the Disney movies I'd like to because of trade barriers - at least via Amazon.com...

I'm sorry to hear that, hon. :( You can't even get them on eBay?

There might be a sollusion - I've bought them thru Amazon.co.uk last night, but I think that these restrictions are like shooting yourself in the foot!
I know I can save a lot of customs and taxes (if there're not caught) when buing from UK, but just the fact that I'm not alloved to buy what I want in USA, p***** me off - excuse my language!

But in about a week I'll get "Walt Disney Treasures: Walt's Tomorrowland - Disney in Space and Beyond" and "Walt Disney Treasures: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit" and "Walt Disney Treasures: Disney Rarities, Celebrated Shorts 1920's-1960's" and "Walt Disney Treasures - Mickey In Living Colour 2" which I missed from the first round and an item I was unaware of - "Vintage Mickey"...

But thanx for your concern, LadyQuackly!

Hedberg, "Vintage Mickey" is just a non-Treasures, nonlimited-edition 1-disc release for the non-collector market, compiling a handful of black and white Mickey cartoons that were already included in the two BW Mickey Treasures tins... both of which you stated upthread that you already had.
"Vintage Mickey" contains no extras, let alone any other unique features; so you definitely won't need it. As far as I can tell, it was simply an attempt by Disney to see whether average viewers wanted Mickey enough to buy noncolor cartoons.

Have you received some scans?
Now that I have made some room on my laptop and my external hard drive, I am more comfortable doing large scans-- yes, it was getting pretty tight. I could scan you this if you still need them, with my apologies for not offering it sooner.

Personally, I love both, but Rarities is probably more for Disney animation fans that have to have everything produced by the studio...that would be me, ha ha. Still, there's some really good stuff on there. Both Silly Symphonies volumes are must haves, in my opinion. Here is a link to a review of Disney Rarities, it will give you a pretty thorough breakdown of the contents.

Thank you, Ramapith - but it has allready been shipped, so...

I received "Tomorrowland" this morning and I have watched half of it by now - truely imaginativ and ahead of it's time. I remember seing part of it on TV as a child in the beginning of the sixties, so it's like getting back when...

No, I have not received any scans yet and would greatly appreciate it if you could. Thanks in advance for your time to do this for me.

Thanks for the info. There are some I remember pretty well like, Ferdinand, Morris, and Lambert. And many others I haven't seen. Looks like a good collection.

I've been watching the Oswald DVD's lately and it's funny to see how much Ub Iwerks was re-using the elasticity (squash and stretch), perspektiv, narrative flow and even storywise, later in Mickey Mouse ...
Look at the way he made "Building a building" almost frame by frame like "Skyscrapers" for instance.

I, to, will send my regards to David Gerstein for the opportunity to watch these historic reels !

...and did Gunnar Ström and Are Myklebust b.t.w. get their prints?

:D
