Looks like BOOM are indeed using the first Ultraheroes story.

I can't say I like it either because I don't like the idea of the Disney characters being super heroes. But it doesn't look too bad (at least the Scrooge and Beagle Boys part) even though, like Robb_K, I don't like the italian style that much.

I quite like the art, but Kneon called it on the dialog. I'll be checking it out though.
Why are the Beagles teenagers?

Oh, one is traditionally a bit slow off the mark with all this in Duckburg & Co. When exercising around as "Super Goof", Goofy needn't even hide his kisser behind a mask for ensuring that not even his closest friends do not recognise him. :D

In Dutch it's all obvious. Donald=Superdonald, Katrien (Daisy)= Superkatrien (Superdaisy) and Goofy=Supergoofy.

Well, I guess I will spend less money on comic books, but have even less chance of my stories, and those of some of my long-time friends and colleagues having our stories printed in English. Now will will have only Uncle Scrooge, and what little space in the big, special books, that will be devoted to new, European (non-Italian) stories.

I think that the translation is okay, but it doesn't have that extra quality that the Gemstone translations had.

Also, what do you think of Eega Beeva not talking like his ptusual ptself (not sure if I got that right ;o)? Do you think they took this out on purpose to simplify things, or did the translator not know how Eega Beeva normally talks?

I do like the premise of Ultraheroes and think it's nice to read it in English.

I think it was cute but a little too much. The one with Gladstone Gander is not a duck was definitely unnecessary.

It almost seems like all the boxes signed by the different Aarons made it even more complicated than it already was. It might have been better if they had left out all the boxes and included a 1-page introduction at the beginning of the comic about this being an Italian story with some profiles of the characters and who they are.

Something that I do find a bit odd is the way that they are cutting up the story. You can find all the original Italian episodes on this page: http://www.disney.it/publishing/topolinomagazine/#/fumetti/saghe/ultraheroes.jsp (click the chapter names in the bottom left).

You can see that WDC&S 699 contains the Epilogue and about half of the first chapter. It just ends in the middle of the story. It seems to me that if they cut up the saga in 8 or so chunks and disregarding the original chapters then the comics will completely loose the original cliffhangers that the writers put in there. Mmm.
