I'll look out for them. Incidentally, I ordered Disney back issues from Midtown Comics in New York, along with the latest issue of Illustration magazine.
Guess what: when I went to cancel my order those issues from amazon.fr, several appeared to now be available! The outrageous thing (besides their taking more time to have them in stock than their German counterpart), is that they never sent me those issues even though I had long preordered them; they could very well have shipped before I cancelled them, but no, they never did.
:(
Another thing: I a dozen several paperbacks from amazon.de; the difference with amazon.fr ranged from under an euro (not interesting) to 4 euros for the exact same book!
Taking into account the shipping charges (6 euros, whatever the number of books) and tax (7%), I saved nearly 30 euros (28.40) ordering from Germany.
I don't know why there is such a difference on American books sold in two neighbor European amazon stores-- and the tax on books is even lower in France (5%).
You really have to spend a lot of time comparing stores (whether amazon or any other store) before buying anything; it is well worth it.
I'm still waiting for my order from Midtown comics, though-- because of the French Post Office, obviously; it doe snot take two weeks for a package to just fly from New York to Paris.

This is just plain WRONG!!! I have a subscription to both those magazines, with a USA address, in a major city, only a few kilometers from a major international airport, and I JUST received US 381 a few days ago. That means they are sending me my issues almost 2 months behind the stores!!! That is a scandal!!!

Thanks, Lars. Now I have read the explanation. I certainly hope Gemstone can send out comics every 2-2.5 weeks, to be able to catch up with their dates on the books soon (early 2009).

I'm very pleased with this issue! It's great to finally have a copy of GotLL where the colors* aren't off-register all the way through. The extra editorials from Don were a splendid touch as well! Thanks for a great presentation of one of my favorite Scrooge stories.
*Egmont coloring again (not too shabby this time, mind you). Are the original Gladstone colors lost from this story as well? Is this a common problem? Can't help but be concerned in the case of the (hopefully) upcoming Don Rosa HC series. If replacements are needed, I'd get 'em from the Greek KOMIX, theirs seem to be as top-notch as Gladstone/Gemstone.
Don't mean to sound too finicky though, my gratitude for the work put into these books and the mere fact that we're still able to buy them does keep me thoroughly appreciative. :)

Argonaut, have you a copy of Uncle Scrooge Adventures #27? I believe the coloring of Gladstone comics was always right on. And the cover is fantastic?one of my favorites!

I'm not claiming our own color at Gemstone is perfect all the time, Morequack.
But the color in the Gladstone II period was frequently off-register?as per this example, I've never seen a copy of USA #27 that was correctly printed; so if yours is, I'm impressed. The page in which Scrooge is first seen is especially bad in the copies I've looked at, including my own and Gemstone's office copy.
Argonaut: Yes; sad to say, the colors only survive from a minority of the Gladstone 1990s comics. This is another one we couldn't get, so used the Egmont color with some modifications of our own.
Our Art Editor emeritus, Travis Seitler, did an awesome job of electronically cutting and pasting the 1990s lettering into the Egmont color art, leading to the results you've now seen.

I have the original book and that was probably part of my reasoning for my original annoyance with the story. The register on it is so awful it's slightly unreadable and gaudy to look at.
I'm not a fan of egmont coloring but this was a MUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH better job. I would try to look at different coloring sources than Egmont in the future IF this is possible however.

Hmm, I'll have to look at my copies of that Gladstone issue. I don't remember any problems with it... but maybe there are.

I got my copy yesterday from Amazon German.
A great last issue of Uncle Scrooge for 2008! I like reading a story and getting background information afterwords - and "Guardians of the Lost Library" is a great story :)
The other two stories were also fun reading and new to me.
