Sheduled for December 10

This is something that I definitely need, and am really glad Gemstone publishes it, among other rare materials, as part of the "Disney Treasures" collection.
It would be interesting to know about the history of the many versions of that story (maybe this should be added to Inducks, one day).

Additional info from the above link for those who might not click and see the price on the picture:
Quote:David Gerstein (editor) wrote: " What you've pictured there is the very first cover for the book, [...] It was then intended as a 128-page book at slightly smaller size, thus the $9.95 cover price.
Today it's a full-sized 168-page book, so we'll be selling it at $16.99.

It was originally going to be $9.95? Darn It. I would have been able to afford it at that price but It might be worth it for all those stories in there. I think The Gottfredson and Scarpa stories alone make it worth having.

That price was only for when Death Valley was the solo story in the book, Roger. It grew quite a bit in size once Chirikawa Necklace was added on as well (which I think was a darn good idea). That's about the reasonable price for a trade with that much in it I think.

You're Probably Right WB. I wonder if there are any other stories as well.

My local Comic Book Shop told me that this item has not been issued yet.

Sorry to bump this thread but I was just wondering: was or was this comic not published? I'm just making sure because I haven't seen it on INDUCKS or the Gemstone website (and yes I have heard the news of them probably not publishing anymore Disney comics :(). Thanks in advance and I'm sorry again for bumping this old thread.

I never heard of it being printed, and I ordered it from my comic book shop. So, I assume that it never got printed.

It was never published.
Roger North
Maybe Boom Studios will publish it when they get the license for publishing classic Disney Comics.
Harukuro
Thanks for letting me know guys. That stinks though, I really wanted to read it. :( But I agree with Roger North maybe Boom Studios will publish it (if they get the license of course).
Roger North
Thanks for agreeing with me Harukuro.

I always liked how Gemstone kept the design of their Treasures volumes consistent with the cover design of the Treasures DVDs. They're very handsome books, and were too few in number.
I hope Boom! will put out something like this, but so far with Muppets and Pixar, they've been publishing all new material. There's a ton of material that's been out of print for decades as well as international strips that have never seen the light of day over here, so hopefully they'll tap those resources.
No official announcement from them. Yet. Maybe at the San Diego Comicon?
