Gob O' Gold Quiz Program

I am looking for verification that a story existed in comic form in the '50s or '60s where Donald was ostensibly asked to be on the Gob O' Gold Quiz Program. I believe that the invitation actually came from Huey, Dewey and Louie. Can anyone verify that the story existed. My kids don't believe me.

Are you talking about that TV Quiz Show with the talking dog? I think I have that story in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #573.

It can't be that one. The quiz show in that story wasn't called the "Gob O' Gold Quiz".

The story line was about a phony phone call that H, D & L, used to fool Donald. I cannot remember any more than that.

I had all the US "Duck comics" from their start in 1940 through the first few years of Gold Key (through about 1965), and all the Barks until his stories stopped. I don't remember ANY story with a radio or TV quiz program called "Gob O' Gold"-not in WDC #99, not in "Voodoo Hoodoo", not in WDC 152, not in US story in which he misses questions to avoid winning money and moving up in tax bracket. IF such a story DID exist in print in the 1960s, it must have been printed in a Gold Key or Whitman comic in 1966 or later (and have been drawn by someone other than Barks). It certainly couldn't have been issued during the 1950s.

The description sounds like WDC 211, -a Barks story in which Huey, Dewey and Louie make a fake newscast, saying that there are "wishing stones" on an Island in The Pacific Ocean. But that story had no quiz programme.
Are you absolutely sure that your memory is accurate? Maybe the story was a NON-Disney funny animal story? Woody Woodpecker? Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd?
Maybe it was Mickey Mouse with Morty and Ferdie tricking him? -Although I should remember if that was so. maybe it was a cartoon, and not a comic book story?

Hey Robb are you talking about The Colossalest Quiz Show? I don't have that story but I read it online once.
