At Gemstone, we managed to find some better quality materials, but while the linework has largely been very clean, the stats themselves have generally been extremely dirty and badly damaged. So the cleaning and restoration process has slowed up production considerably.
More news when I know it; you can be sure I look forward to this book as much as any of you. In the meantime, though, Gottfredson fans will be able to enjoy our reprints of "Mickey Mouse, Boxing Champion" (in WDC&S 698-699, moved from 695-696) and and "Mickey Mouse Vs. Kat Nipp" (in WDC&S 700).
We also may reprint "Mickey Mouse Sails for Treasure Island" in WDC&S next year?we originally announced it for WDC&S 700, but have since bumped it forward. It made more sense to have a self-contained story in the special 700th issue.
That's a good idea to have a single part Mickey story in the 700th issue of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories. There wasn't any Mickey story at all in the 600th issue. It was an all Donald issue.

I think as a U.S. fan, I tend to get paranoid whenever Gemstone doesn't update something.
After graduating college, I had to wait till I had enough money to get my comic subscriptions. Of course by the time I had saved enough money, they cut back their production to two monthly comics.
Between that and the printing delays, I'm also paranoid that the final nail in the coffin is coming and that The States will be left in the dark again.

And when I Googled it using the original Diamond order code, I found this webpage, http://www.comiclistdatabase.com/0805cancel.txt , showing that it had indeed been cancelled (scroll down to the "Gs" publishers and you'll find Gemstone), listed as, "MAR083727 E BARKS ROSA COLL TP VOL 03 GOLDEN HELMET CHARTS COLUMBUS <I>Will Resolicit</I>".
Does anyone know just when Diamond resolicited it? It would help me tell my usual retailer how to find it if I could hunt down the new Diamond order code. If any of you happen to know around what month it showed up in Diamond's PREVIEWS again (its resolicited listing), I could hunt down the code itself over on Diamond's website.
(And, silly question, but I'm presuming at least some of you guys actually *received* this, right? That you're not going just from possibly outdated internet info, right? Not that I think you are but it never hurts to ask.)

Whoops, never mind, guys! I found the resolicitation. It was in the June 2008 issue of PREVIEWS. I then looked at my June 2008 order and it shows my indeed having ordered it (and received it, too). Heck if I can find it, though. Then, again, with my recent move things are hardly as organized as I'd like them to be. I'm sure it's around here somewhere (or, at least, hopefully it is!).
