Have I already posted this fact here earlier? Bob Karp and Al Taliaferro were the first authors to introduce Scrooge's brother, as explained in this article. Sure it was functional to the gag, but we cannot ignore it. I suggest the brother is neither Gideon/Gedeone or Rumpus. First because half of them was not even created back then (even though supposedly already existing in the duck world) and then because Rumpus is early thought to be Scrooge's cousin and little is known about Gedeone's youth (probably spent away from Scrooge). No, I believe Karp is referring to Scrooge's twin brother (Scrooge "Mani Buche" McDuck) introduced some years earlier by Guido Martina and GB Carpi in this story.
Ps. I know it wasn't meant to be HIM, but I think he is the most likely amongst the three brother.
