I've just noticed in the inducks that every publication indexed by a certain "CRe" has the slogan "[information taken with permission from http://www. lustige-taschenbuecher. de]" tacked to it. That must be a first, surely? It suddenly makes the prestigious inducks look like a second-rate copycat. Moreover, it's an obvious (and typical) publicity stunt for that induckser's own fansite. I'm not happy to see the inducks spammed with that kind of stuff.

I agree!!
Although the data may come from an other (good) fansite, that should not be displayed in Inducks. And the data mustn't come from that site. You can easily type it in directly from the book. It just looks like an advertising.

I think you're right. Since there is a place that expands the indexer code into the person's name (http://coa.inducks.org/mag-inx.php/x/CRe), we'll mention the indexer's own website there. There is no reason to mention it on every entry he contributes to. It certainly goes against the spirit in which the licence was written.
As you may read at http://www.lustige-taschenbuecher.de/impressum.php , the data on this website uses Inducks as a source (which is permitted as long as the data is redistributed under the condition of the Inducks licence) as well as Inducks storycodes. From my understanding (I'm not in charge of the German index), the person also expanded the index of the German pocket books LTB. Since we hate double work, we took back some of his work after checking that it's accurate.

Most of the time, though, the external source is actually a printed index (see http://bolderbast.inducks.org/xindind.html). It's a first that we use data from a website (or a rare instance that we do so). In all cases, the data is checked, corrected, expanded, maintained etc.

It's totally okay the inducks makes use of and acknowledges other trustworthy sources. It just seemed a bit strange to me, a tad like "The data for Donald Duck Adventures #22 was brought to you by Coca Cola"...
