It was one I read in the comics, probably in the late Sixties; and I don't remember if it was an "Uncle Scrooge" comic or a "Donald Duck" one.

It was one where they all went to Africa, and Scrooge was bitten by a tsetse fly and got sleeping sickness. (Poor baby. :( )

I've been trying to find it on the internet, but I don't remember the artist or even the title. Can anyone
help me on this one? Thanks... :)

I just checked that story out on the following site: http://disneycomics.free.fr/ ,
and there was an incident like that. But it seemed there was a similar story that went differently, and
started differently as well...probably Tony Strobl did it. But since it's been 40 years or so since I read it,
I could be wrong. Anyway, thanks Morequack! :)

Actually a very good story (my guess is that it was written by Bob Gregory, but I can not prove it).

Sorry I'm not much help on description; actually, only that story and "I.O.U....But Who?" stand out
(especially the latter) from my childhood. The "tsetse fly" story I'm thinking about, if memory serves
me right, began when Donald and the nephews are visiting Scrooge and notice some blisters (or
callouses?) on his hands. He'd gotten them from counting his coins, I think. Then for some particular
reason they went to Africa; Scrooge was bitten by the tsetse and passed out, and they had to leave
him in a tent for awhile. (Amazing what your mind can still remember after all that time.)

Maybe it would just help to crawl into a time machine and go to my old house. :)

I think so, too...I know that the "I.O.U." story was. Maybe I can find out something about it on the net.

UPDATE: I think I found it!!! :) I searched at the I.N.D.U.C.K.S. database, and there was something by Tony Strobl called "The Manda-Dulu Safari", where Uncle Scrooge was sleep-walking over
in Africa. It's in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #333, June 1968---about the year I would have been
reading it. There's an issue over at eBay right now, but I'm broke...darn it. (Next time. ;) )
