Hello everyone!
I bought Gemstone's dee-lightful book "Mickey and the Gang" and I read Al Taliaferro's strips with Donna Duck from 1951. I was amazed, when I saw that her fiance was called Manuel Gonzales. I immediately associated this name with name of the artist, who created comic strips with Mickey. Did Al do it by accident, or for laugh (for the publisher or Manuel - for sure not for newspapers readers, because they didn't know who drew all those strips)?

I'm sure Al did it intentionally, as they worked together at Disney Studio's comic strip department. Small inside joke.

I used to think that Donna and Daisy were the same character until I heard about that comic strip when they were fighting over Donald. That's when I realized they were two different characters.
