This cover drawing was drawn in 1990. My Gutenberghus editor, Michael Clausen, told me to make the magnifying glass (which I had drawn as just a large, rectangular pane of glass) into a gigantic version of the small, handled type people use. It looks silly, but adds to the sillyness of Donald's reaction. Egmont still hasn't returned it. It's in a pile with about 50 others they haven't used yet. They've used 3-4 of mine so far.

The following is the original pencil drawing I did for a cover for The Danish Donaldist Society's (DDFR) fanzine. I show this to demonstrate how my poor quality inking on my other shown drawings, stiffens the characters:

Magnifying glass: a very clever gag. I agree a large pane of glass (or more exactly, a frameless lens) (which Donald could not see) would make more sense-- but then, this version does make the gag immediately understandable (though a larger version of the fish on the glass should make it clear what kind of glass it is).

Fish: a classic situation-- the master fisher story is wonderful in that respect.

Doctors: I like it! I can imagine it happening in the Duck household.

I love this one!
Good gag, nice composition (balanced, but not a mirror symmetry, thanks to the two nephews' different positions).
The drawing does look different-- rounder, more natural; nicer.
