This is my first topic here, i hope it'll get some succes :D
The reason i posted here is to talk about Disney comics in 3rd world country's, as a Morrocan citizen i can show you the reason's why it's too hard to be a comics fan.
1- Since our second official language is French we get a multiple of comics like : '' Picsou magazine '' ( my favorite publisher) - '' Super Picsou geant '' - '' Mickey Parade Géant '' - '' Les Trésors de Picsou '' - '' Le journal de Mickey '' and others special seasonal publishers. But the real problem is their late arrival ! a Picsou magazine is distributed on the first day of each month ( in France) meanwhile in Morroco i have to wait sometimes months to get that comic, and it could sometimes never arriven and don't count that you'll get in the first month, even if you lived in big cities like i do. and you could only find them in big kiosk's.
2- MONEY : the prises are too high compared to other comics : here we got nothing local, all the youth magazines are imported, for example a magazine from egypt cost about 0,7 euros and it's published every week but Picsou magazine here costs 3,5 euros and that's is very expensive for a magazine in Morocco .
3- Lack of reading : in my opinion Moroccan people are the least readers in the world ! i never saw my dad or my friends or anyone here reading a simple book, even if we talk 3 languages ! ( i personally read alot of books and comics ) and that's a major problem here that no one cares about.
4- Others: Where i live we got a lot of schools walls painted with disney universe like Donald, Mickey, Dingo, Daisy ... but no one knows their names !!
Even a school near mine is named '' Donald's School ''
This thing is common in all our country, and maybe the entire 3rd world country's, i really hope you could share some of the things that bothers to you !!

Hey there. I'm an American living and working in Casablanca. I've only been here a little over a month, but I get the impression that here, at least, the comics are pretty punctually released. There's a newsstand/book store just down the street from me that sells all the French titles; obviously, I haven't been here long, but given that I already have three issues of Picsou Magazine, there doesn't seem to be a lot of delay. Of course, living in the country's biggest city and economic capital, things may just move a little faster. I can't venture an opinion on prices, not yet having enough of a feel for the local economy, but I will say that SOMEONE is clearly reading them--the store gets huge stacks of them, which visibly decrease as the month progresses.

It seems that you could order Picsou and other French books from that large book store in Casablanca. And I think you could also buy the Egyptian Disney comics there. At least, I seem to remember seeing Egyptian Disney comics in Morocco and Tunisia during the 1990s.

Yeah, about Casablanca, i don't know the places or anything else there, but we could all agree that it has certainly a better than my city, but right know i'm in Meknes and i noticed it's quite what you said, so i guess i have to move on ^^
About the Egyptian Disney comics i'd like to now it's name and if it's in arabic or english, and i think if it really existes, it will be much popular than the french ones and cheaper.

Here is a link to a page about the Egyptian Mickey Mouse comic book. It started in 2004. I don't know if the recent revolution stopped its printing. It was published in Arabic language. There were other Disney comics published in Egypt in the 1980s and 1990s. They were always printed in Arabic.

Yeah, Egyptians are know for their magazines in Arab countries, but still they're not as found or famous as French ones here, so i think Moroccans would prefere taking french ones than arabic in The Netherlands. Did you really saw Egyptian comics books in Morocco in the 90's ? because i only remember that 3 french ones were trendy during that time, and the only Egyptian magazine i know in Morroco is '' Al Arabi al saghir ''.
Oh and i found a nice website that you could see all countries with Disney publishers, unfortunately my country shows not a single thing...

Whoah, you're certainly a very interesting person, i'd really like to meet you sometime and showing you my city Kenitra, it's beach and natural reserve and Stehat a savage place that always reminde's me of Scrooge's creek in Klondike where you camp (in front of the sea) surounded by nature and with no facilities such like water and sanitation ... You should visit Agadir's region an amazing desert and i recommand you to try Argan a grain that grows only in this place and in Mexico, and you could make from it Amlou a marron like chocolate oil, it's very tasty, and many pharmaceutical oils ...

I did all that touring in my working youth, because it cost me almost nothing, as my employers (through the clients(UN and World Bank) paid for it on my way to and from my jobs in Africa and The Middle East).
I work now as a storywriter and storyboard artist for Sanoma Uitgevers (Dutch Disney Comics), Egmont Serieforleget (Danish Disney Comics) and Ehapa Verlag (German Disney Comics), and do some freelance storywriting on some German projects, and also am a part-time elementary school subsitute (emergency) teacher. I had learned rudimentary (very basic only) Arabic, and did not have such a big vocabulary. I had the help of knowing Hebrew, and knowing the Hebrew Alphabet (which was derived, as was Arabic, from the same ancient West Semitic Alphabet-and, thus, is very similar, and easy to learn), and help with grammar and syntax because of the fact that the two languages are sister languages (like Spanish and French). But, I have had to attempt to improve my Dutch, and Spanish, and to learn German and Danish since then, and have not been back in an Arabic country, nor spoken to Arabic speakers since the early 1980s*. I have forgotten many Arabic words. So, I could not carry on a very complicated conversation. Then, too, Jordanian Arabic sounds very different from that of The Maghrib.
*I remembered my work/travel timeline very incorrectly (off by exactly 10 years). What is 10 years to someone who is almost 70? I stopped working on UN projects in 1986. My Atlas Mountains trip was in 1979 (not 1989), and my last tourist trip was in 1982 (not 1992).
It was 1992 that I found the many Egyptian comic books in the shops in The Netherlands, -NOT in Morrocco. THAT is why I connected my Moroccan trip with finding the Egyptian books. So, it has been more than 30 years since I have spoken any Arabic. I saw in your website that you have writed many stories, unfortunatly i have never read any of them - but i saw some drawnings styles that were familiar to me like Juan Torres Perez and Daniel Branca- . I saw your profile picture in the website but i do not recognize the character , i believe he is just someone you drawned for yourself, and i can't put him in any story i have rod, he could be a nice fellow in duckburg who is an amateur of football,a cinephile that you'll always find him in movie theaters or just HD&L funky professor and I'd really like to read a story of yours featuring this character.
