Quote from user: Robb_KI don't want IDW to reprint any Barks stories. We're getting all those (just as they looked originally) in The Fantagraphics hardbounds). I want to get the stories by Jippes, Branca, Gulbransson, Scarpa, Van Horn, Milton, better ones by Vicar and others that haven't been printed yet in English, and the long stories by Gottfredson that haven't yet been printed in colour in large format in USA or in The Netherlands. I'm getting the Fantagraphics Mickey Mouse. But I want all the dailies through 1955 in colour, too.
Oh no, I wasn't saying those were what I was wanting to get printed, just that they would have been solid content for the Gemstone issues. I'm rooting for Rota and all those you mentioned, although Vicar and Scarpa aren't as high on the list as the others for me simply because I have more of their content (well, I have a good deal of Van Horn, but I really can't get enough.)

Yes, The Gemstones were a very high quality, just like Gladstone. I just hope we don't lose those great stories they planned (other than the Barks).

I have most of Gladstone 1 era comics and am picking up the Fantagraphics Barks, Rosa, and Gottfredsen hardcovers as they're released. That said, there are so many classic Barks stories that deserve to be read by kids and adults alike that stumble into these new IDW comics. So, I'd love to still see the occasional Barks story.

Of stories that I haven't been able to read in another language, my first vote is for the Casty/Cavazzano "Lost Explorers' Trail"--I want to be introduced to Eurasia Tost/Toft. Happily, my wish is already fulfilled, as that one is coming up in IDW's first Mickey Mouse.... And then I see from Inducks that there are three more Casty stories with Eurasia T., two penciled by Cavazzano and one by Casty, all very highly rated on Inducks. Incidentally, Minnie also has a female archaeologist friend (a one-appearance character) in Giovanna Bo's story "Minni e il sentiero delle gatte" (the trail of the cats).
Mostly, I'm just so happy to look at the Gemstone list of proposed stories and to know that there is again hope that we might see some of this material published on our shores. Yay, David Gerstein and Sarah Gaydos and all!

I'm sorry if this has already been asked and answered but did Boom have any planed content that was shelved when they lost the Disney license.

I know, at a bare minimum, WDC 720 was originally solicited with a different story that what was released:

Quote:Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #720
Celebrate 70 years of WALT DISNEY??S COMICS with one of the most unique Disney adventures ever, with art by Giorgio Cavazzano never before printed in the U.S.! The year: 1946. The place: Los Angeles. The event: a once-in-a-lifetime meeting of Walt Disney and Salvador Dali! Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy are on hand to witness the event, but what happens when they find themselves trapped in one of Dali??s surreal paintings? The answer will astound your imagination! Also features a classic short by Bill Walsh and Manuel Gonzales not seen in the U.S. in 60 years!
Diamond Code: APR110909

The main story was this one:

What the Walsh/Gonzales story was, I don't know.

Instead of that, WDC 720 was released with the second part of The Treasure of Marco Topo, which continued from MM 309--it was probably originally slated for MM 310.
