Thanks for sending scans of the comic Sigvald!
I just read the comic and I really enjoyed it. I loved the dark humor, the plot twists and turns, and the visual gags, which thankfully Rosa would continue later in his career. What can I say, it was a damn good read.

Gladstones fate made me me think of Rosa's "Oolated Luck" and the whole conecpt of using luck agianst him when the odds of losing are bigger then wining.

I wasn't reminded of that story for some reason. However Gladstone's fate made me think; if your whole life is lucky and you have it all easy, having good things happen to you almost all the time, not needing to work etc., like Gladstone Gander himself, than the end is going to be really hard. I guess your life can be a lucky one, but youre death won't be. What can I say, theres always a catch. :P

Speaking of fates, Goofy's fate reminded me of a Romano Scarpa Christmas story I remember reading some years back in one of Gemstone's Christmas albums. In the story, Santa Claus shows Mickey Mouse what life would be like if he was never born, one part of that scenario being that Goofy is homeless without anyone to look after him. Very similar to what happens in "Return to Duckburg Place", expect much less dark. I guess Goofy is very much dependent on Mickey then. But considering his IQ, that's not surprising at all.

I also like that while the story has all this dark stuff, everyting that happens to Donald is so "Looney Tunes" style cartoonish ;)

The whole story made me strongly think of "Fritz the Cat" btw. Some very similiar themes.
