Hi all! I was just wondering if anyone could help me with identifying who the character named 'Grandpa McDing'h' on the following family tree is:

I mean, it looks like a Scarpa/Gottfredson character to me, but I can't remember seeing this character before. And still, I'd love to read the story featuring him.

Thanks for the link! That sure is very intetesting! But are you sure that's the character on the tree? Their clothing is quite different, and I think that especially the style in which they're drawn isn't too similar. Any experts on Goofy-relatives or Mickey-stories' drawing styles reading this? :p

yeah,if we see there is a big difference but we could relate that to different styles of drawning like you said and the drawner needs to make clear for us to believe that was just a disguised dingo and the real caracter was never interpreted like it was said on the link :)

Oh, and i saw that the same picture used for Stanley (dingo's father) is the picture used for Amos in your tree so i think that the guy in the link is colonel dingo

I don't think that character is of French origin. Therefore, the "Dingo" portion isn't the original name. I think his real name was "Grandpa MacGoof". The art looks like Bill Wright's style. I think it comes from a Christmas story from the late 1940s from the Firestone giveaways or the 1949, 1950 or 1951 "Christmas Parade". I'm sure I have the story in some '40s or beginning of the '50s comic book.

BTW, I found out who the creator of the above shown tree is. His name is Adrien Miqueu (hasn't he been on this forum once?).
Another thing that I wanted to mention is this Gottfredson story from 1961: http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=YM+61-09-14 . It does show 'GO's grandfather' according to INDUCKS, but there are no scans to be found. It was reprinted quite recently (2010) in an Italian book (http://coa.inducks.org/issue.php?c=it/CAT++20#nl). Does anyone here have accessibility to that issue?

If you add all the relatives Goofy has in the Italian comics, you'd never end(there is basically one new Great Great Great Grandfather\Uncle every other story).
And I'm not sure the Ding* Dingos were ever stated being Goofy's relatives in the Italian comic.
Also, the chart lacks Giada as Indiana Pipp's romantic interest

Thanks for sharing, FAa! Man, if that's Goofys GREAT-grandfather (and therefore the great-great grandfather of those nephews Goofy had in the classic comics), he must be extremely old! However, he definately looks like he's been around for a couple of centuries! :D Brilliantly drawn!
