In the last panel of D 2000-196, story by Lars Jensen, they appear some Fethry's friends and they seem to me hippies...

Do they, in your opinion, are hippies?

I know that in Brazilian stories, Fethry has a hippie (girl)friend called Gloria.

But Fethry himself is also a superhero in those stories, called the Red Bat. Marcelogo Vermelegho, or something like that? Or did I just say something very insulting in Brazilian? :)

Here in Brazil, our cartoonists created a Theatrical Troupe for him. His girlfriend, the great Gloria, is a modern hippie, 'cos she's too urban to be consider as a real hippie.

Hi, MrCleveland! Yeah, it certainly is interesting. But, as I said before, she's not exactly a hippie. I mean she doesn't live in an isolated community in contact with Mother Nature. She's quite urban indeed! She's the perfect match for Fethry, 'cos she understands his eccentric behavior.

I would agree on the idea of them being urban hippies, Fethry always did strike me as being the type: but then, I'm that way myself. ;)
P.S. Chabacano: your avatar is the best picture of Fethry I've seen in a long, long time, I love it! Couldn't have done better myself. ;)

Yes, I should have stated that he should talk like a "beatnik". I've passed through all those "fads" and "movements" and can't keep them all straight. But, like, man, Fethry talking like a Beatnik, man that would be cool, man, cool! Like wow!

But, I wonder if the young kids would think that is very strange, and "get" it?

People from Amsterdam would definitely get it. It sounds like a typical person who uses soft-drugs, marihuana and weed and such.
