I was six or seven when I found the old boxes of Dell comics in the attic. They were my dad's, but I think I actually have my grandparents to thank for preserving them like that.

I was maybe 21, 22. It changed my life. I started with The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck at the recommendation of a Finnish fan who was offended that I had only ever watched DuckTales, and I pretty much went on from there.

I started when I was 26 years old I think hahaha. Pretty late. I saw a video about Carl Bark on Cinemassacre and I was hooked. The first thing I did was buy Lost in the Andes on Amazon. So that was my first story. WHAT A FIRST STORY! It's a perfect piece of storytelling.
I remembered it arrived just before I was going to the airport to attend to my cousin's wedding. I read it on the plane.
I will certainly buy the whole collection. No doubt about it.

Quote from user: Opel Rekord1985Quote from user: Robb_KQuote from user: Opel Rekord1985I was around 7 - 9 years old, I was reading Donald Duck and Co. Comics in Icelandic (of course, native Icelander) from around 1986 - 1993. I think, It was in maybe 2002 or 2003. Not really sure.
So then, you started reading, old, second hand comic books first, before you bought currently-published books?
And, your first automobile was a 1985 Opel Rekord? Mine was a 1959 Simca.
Yup, second hand comics first. :]
and no, that was my 6th car I think, my first car was a 1989 Skoda 120 L.
Opal, Do you have a lot of comic shops and Antikvariater in Iceland selling second hand Disney Comics? I have had 7 of my stories printed in Icelandic Disney comic books, and I'd like to get as many as possible. Do you look for used comics? My stories are mostly in Andrés ?nd and Andrés ?nd Extra from the early to mid 1990s. Would it be possible to find those? I have a fair amount of duplicate Dutch and DanishDisney Comics, and some US Gladstones for trade.
I fly fairly low over Iceland twice each year. But I never come down. I would like to visit your country some day.
