Congratulations on getting those garbanzo.

A few weeks ago I bought copy of Donald and Scrooge, the Don Rosa Disney TPB, on ebay for a few bucks.
Just opened it up to read it, and I find it's signed by Don Rosa.
Cool!!

LUCKY

I accidentally missed an ebay auction of a Carl Barks signed comic once. It ended up going for 99 cents :(

NOICE. I have the gemstone printings of both the Life and the Companion. Excellent stuff. How much did you pay?
Garbanzo
I dropped $150 for the lot. I never thought I'd pay double the cover price for some 3-year-old books!
But I'm a big Rosa fan, and I love the series, so I figured I should go ahead and get the HCs.
I just hope they ship fast, I can't wait to read it again :)

Be careful when you do. In the Gemstone edition, Don's "Making Of" texts often refer to specific page numbers within the volume. Though Boom numbered the pages of their books differently, they left most of the "Making Of" page-number references unchanged. So it's sometimes unclear what page is really being referred to...

That's a shame! Thanks for the heads up.

Well, I haven't really seen them cheaper in recent times, so that's not too shabby.

I only paid 30 for my two combined, but again, they aren't hardcovers. The companion used to be only 13 or 14 dollars on Amazon, and I got really lucky on Ebay a couple of months ago when someone listed a NM Life of Scrooge for only 12 dollars plus 3.90 shipping.

The problem with the Boom books is that, if I understand aright, Rosa will refuse to sign them for you. :/

YES! HE WILL SIGN MY GEMSTONE ONES!

Wait... when am I going to meet him?
GeoX
When you go to a convention where he's appearing?

TIME TO SIGN UP FOR ALLLLL THE CONVENTIONS!!!
Garbanzo
I heard about him refusing to sign Boom. Anyone know why?
OK by me, I already have a signed Rosa book. One's enough :)
Arild
I think it's because they didn't pay him for the use of his name in a couple of comic books.

But I'm not sure.
