Topic: Value of the Uncle Scrooge: A Little Somting Special paperback

I hope someone has an answer to this question, but I just happened to cross paths with a Walt Disney Treasures Uncle Scrooge: A Little Something Special trade paperback, which I have learned is very rare from searching about it online, but I am wondering what the value is of this trade paperback as well.
The only imperfections on it are approx. seven tiny "oil spots" on the front cover with the largest no bigger than a dime and both covers have only a few small depression marks on them when angled in the proper light, otherwise it is in brand new condition and the binding feels like it has never been cracked either.
I am looking to sell this since I am a student and could use the money, so any help is appreciated.

The value of this book??as all other books??is ever changing, and would be whatever the current market demands: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140434853117&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Is it really that expensive? I didn't know.

Wow! That's expensive. The prices for the Gemstone issues have gone up. I'm still missing 9 Uncle Scrooge issues and can't find any for less then 20 USD in Germany.
Doesn't that show, that people want classic comics from Disney?
Barko
Expensive, yes - if it sells for those prices. We´ll have to wait and see till the auction ends. I´ve often seen things on Ebay that did´nt sell because the price was set too high from the beginning. I don´t know if this is the case with the Treasures book, but we´ll soon find out.

Yep. I don't really understand the economics of all this, but there is a strong disparity between what people charge for rare comics like this and what people are willing to actually PAY. If you check google shopping, you will find copies of Uncle Scrooge 310 on sale for three hundred and three hundred fifty dollars. These have been there for YEARS, because really, who the hell is going to pay that much? I mean, I'm pretty fanatical, and I paid more than I'm willing to admit for my copy of US310 (hey, I badly wanted to complete my Rosa collection), but I would NEVER have paid anything like that.

The going rate for US #310 on ebay is about $125.00 to $150.00 tops.....The Gemstone books are getting tougher to find.......I had no idea A Little Something Special was going for at least twice what I bought it for 2 years ago....good to see the value of ducks up.

The Amazon prices by third parties are always far above the market price. That results in the possibility to keep an item unlimited time on the list for free. So people just hope to find some buyer over time. At ebay you have a limited time and a price for each offering.

Whoa...for seventy-five dollars, anybody who's looking for a copy would be foolish not to snap that up RIGHT NOW.

I really hope you're sarcastic.

Why don't people buy these things when they are new, rather than wait a few years and then pay outrageous prices?!
GeoX
I don't know, Lars. Maybe they weren't fans at the time. Maybe, lacking precognitive abilities, they didn't expect it to become so hard to find. I really couldn't say. But no--not a touch of sarcasm. You are vanishingly unlikely to find it for anything less than that, so if you really want it and you can afford this, you should buy it now.
The logic is ineluctable.

Agreed. In fact, I'm tempted myself, and I already have an excellent copy.

Here's what my precognitive abilities are telling me today: if an easily-degradable item is produced in a very small quantity it will quickly become rare. That's why, say, several of BOOM!'s Standard Character publications will become rare and sought-after within ten years or less.
