Well I'm guessing my computer wasn't loading it very well, so I'm going to assume that the flow of the animation was a LOT better than what I was seeing.
I'm with Mr. M on that I greatly prefer traditional animation to the new stuff they have now. Like he said it ages a lot quicker, and more often then not they just don't look right to me. I think they try to get both realistic and cartoon at the same time and fail at both. However even for flash cartoon shows, I find the art style...well... it's lacking in my opinion. I don't know whether it is the flash itself or just the overall style trend of cartoons right now, but I can't name one cartoon that I like the art style, which makes it extremely difficult for me to watch it. Even cartoon's from the 80's where there was definitely some corners being cut, I muchly prefer the art style then to now. Then again I haven't seen the stuff that you would get on cable like the new loony tunes and such, but just stuff that is popular right now on the internet... I don't like it.
However, from what I have seen, I don't have as much of a problem with this short. I still prefer the other art styles before it, but it's a lot better than the 3D stuff with them, (just...no. Some characters just don't convert to 3D animation very well. Mickey and Co. is one of those), and most of the other new cartoons out right now. The fact that the background is watercolour painting is a nice feel for something taking place in Paris. It actually reminded me of old Looney Toons Cartoons for some reason. It seems to still have that flash syndrome of the animation, but despite all this, I'm pretty excited for new stuff coming out.
First I heard about the new Duck Tales game and now this. I am getting spoiled this year.

I've never understood the obsession with turning traditional characters into 3D monstrosities. It looks cheap and is (often) unflattering.
A few years back they did a Goofy cartoon that was made with computers but designed to look like an old theatrical short. I've never understood why those were the exception and not the rule.

I did like the new form of the MM shorts, it looked old and new at the same time.
I too, like "The Loonry Tunes Show"...I couldn't resist.

Monochrome, I had the same problem trying to watch this on my work computer. The frame rate was terrible. I streamed it at home to my HDTV, and the animation was very fluid. As far as the short itself, I thought it was OK. I really liked the style of the backgrounds, it reminded me a lot of Paperman, the Pixar short accompanying Wreck-It Ralph. However, I've never been a fan of Rudish. I've found his work to look great, but in the end it always reminds me of Flash animation. A bit flat and cold. I did love the title card though, it's beautiful!

The cartoons just started on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/disney-mickey-mouse-vol.-1/id659497774
The Paris one is for free. A season pass is $3.99 (HD) or $2.99 (SD) for nine episodes.

Are they worth watching? I couldn't bring myself to simply because of the animation. Reading the description, they were bragging about it being "new animation technology." Just no. Its called cheap animation that doesn't compare to the fantastic cartoons of the 30s and 40s

It doesn't have the same magic of the old cartoons, but it was fun watching. A great way to spend 4 minutes.

The animation is watchable. But, the style is too modern and "Disney General Marketing Style"for my taste. I prefer the late '30s/early '40s animation style. But, it's nice to see that they are still making cartoon shorts.

I'm glad they're using the classic looks of the characters as the basis for their redesigns, but the "modern", apparently Spumco-inspired animation style is a little off-putting. One of my biggest gripes is that they seem to have reverted to the "Dippy Dawg" look for Goofy, with no pants and a tail. I understand why this particular iteration of the character was used as the closing joke in "No Service", but they kept it going in "Stayin' Cool". Mickey's pie-eyed, red-shortsed rendition is the definitive look for him, IMHO, but Goofy being unclothed waist-down rankles for some reason.
