Of course! The original is by Luciano Bottaro, who was one of the most expressive Italian artists, as opposed to Giuseppe Perego, who was certainly the least expressive.

For the record, the French version I have leaves the gun intact. Per inducks, the only Norwegian publication is from 1974. it seems likely that editorial stances have changed since then.
