Quote from user: Robb_KI abhor the racism in The United States ... it is still a very racist country in my view.
You should abhor racism. Racism of all kinds! Racism not just in the United States! But really, a "very racist country"? That's why there are so many more opportunities for African Americans today in the U.S., and more African Americans with higher-paying jobs and high-status positions in the U.S. per capita than in any other country in the world? And that's why Americans elected an African American President? Ask yourself this: What percentage of the "white" U.S. population voted for a "black" man for President four years ago? Conversely, what percentage of the "black" population voted for his opponent, a "white" man? I will tell you: roughly 96% of African Americans voted for Obama. Do you think this lopsidedness was based on the merits of one man over the other? But then you are half correct: reverse racism is alive and well in the United States of America.

Can we get back to Barks now? Or have we effectively been there and done that?

Yeah, I think we're pretty much done here. And for what it's worth, I apologize to everyone for my part in derailing this thing. There are certain provocations that are hard for me not to rise to, but this place is supposed to be free of such bullshit, though I suppose given the nature of the thread it was sort of inevitable. Anyway, I'm done.

140 million Americans??a staggering 65% of the registered electorate??cast their votes to make Barack Obama the 44th president of [these here "very racist"] United States of America.
A stunning 54 percent of young white voters supported Obama, compared with 44 percent who went for McCain [in these "very racist" United States of America]. In the past three decades, no Democratic presidential nominee has won more than 45 percent of young whites.
Conversely, 96% of black voters went to the ballot for Obama and only 3% for McCain.
Much of the surge in black voter participation in 2008 was driven by increased participation among black women and younger voters. The voter turnout rate among eligible black female voters increased 5.1 percentage points, from 63.7% in 2004 to 68.8% in 2008. Overall, among all racial, ethnic and gender groups, black women had the highest voter turnout rate in 2008??a first. Blacks ages 18 to 29 increased their voter turnout rate by 8.7 percentage points, from 49.5% in 2004 to 58.2% in 2008. The voter turnout rate among young black eligible voters was higher than that of young eligible voters of any other racial and ethnic group in 2008. This, too, was a first.

Well it seems I'm a little late for the off-topic party, but this is as good as time as I'm going to get to post my completely off topic post of 60's Spiderman!

Just taking away the seriousness of the few posts before me c:
We can get back on topic now.
