Just thought of something a little while ago while looking over a couple of Fethry Duck stories I have. I was noticing how he just might be the most varied-looking character in Disney's whole comic universe simply because different artists have drawn him in such extremely different ways.
And it set me to thinking: which pictures of Fethry have you guys seen of him looking calmest, and which of him looking wildest (in your personal opinions)?
I think that getting a chance to possible see him in such varied styles could really be fascinating when you consider how many stories he's been in. ;)

Really interesting question about the character which was drawn in a really different ways by different artists =)
I like how he was drawn by Al Hubbard from the story "It's Music?" to the really late stories - I like his original appearance, he looks funny but a little insane and I think it's cool. Brazilian version of Fethry looks quite nice and calm, but a little different from original. And I find quite interesting some European designs of this character , for example by Andrea Freccero and José Maria Manrique.
About the 'wildest' - I don't like three early Tony Strobl's comics with Fethry - this character don't looks like an original Fethry, reminds the character from early Kinny\Hubbard stories a little, but looks odd for me.

The Italian artist Enrico Faccini has a style that suits Fethry very well. It's hard describe. I read this story recently, and it's full of funny facial expressions. Faccini is a notable writer as well, because many of his stories are nearly silent. One of his best stories in which he does this is Silent Night, in which Scrooge celebrates Christmas with his worst enemies.

I honestly don't like the early way Fethry was drawn in the early stories - I love however the newer versions :)

I don't really like any of the Italian or Brasilian Fethry styles. I guess I really only like Barks and Jippes/Milton and the least distorted Branca for drawing The Ducks. So, I'd like Fethry best drawn in The Barks style. I drew a picture of Fethry in that style to see how he would look:

I agree about Faccini, he is a wonderful Fethry artist and an all-around Duck artist. I also enjoy the early American Fethry, the modern Italian Fethry and I especially adore the Brazilian Fethry, including stories about his alter-ego Morcego Vermelho (the Red Bat).

Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that Barks would have placed his OWN style of linework, own style hands and feet, own style beak on Fethry. That is all what I did in my drawing above. I think it is a reasonable guess as to how Barks would have drawn him (and not too far off from how Barks or Jippes (or even Branca) would have drawn him. And, no, - I don't believe that Daan Jippes or Branca have ever drawn him (at least, officially). And, I have never seen a fan drawing of that character by either of them.
