This has changed. Barl Carks, or Carl Banks as he is called now, has evolved more and more. This is his current status.

Enemies: practacally no one. He's just a nice (but wacky) kid. Although he has developed a bit of mood against Flintheart Glomgold at the end of Donald Duck: Follows the Sun (I really need a better title!), he stays nice to him. He got his revenge.
Desription of looks: stayed the same.
Short description of life: after living in the Netherlands for 10 years, he has to move. His father decides to go to America, to a place where his father has been a lot. And his grandfather. And his uncle. This so called "Duckburg" has become quite a common place for the Bankses. And let's not start about this Scrooge McDuck, whom they've met in the late 19th century, in 1885, in 1899, in 1904, in 1912, 1915, 1947, 1955 and more... And yes, I have a story for every one of those years. The 1904 story has been fully sketched. Not to mention the previous Scrooges: the stone age Scrooge, the Roman one, in the Dutch Golden Age, the French Revolution, in the Victorian era and more... And yes, I've got some vague ideas for those stories too.
Reasons he should be added: as a gimmick. He is the gimmick for the 1904 story already. And he keeps the Follows the Sun (I really need a better title!) story running.
Reasons he should not: I don't know. Why not, actually?

Yay, another voice for strong female characters! Thanks, Mr. M! On another thread (the next U.S. Disney comics publisher), Kurt Appel said:
A third line should contain new American comics with the introduction of new characters, above all some credible females: Daisy and Minnie are too sterotyped and the Duck/Mouse world is the (fictional) male world of the fifties which exclude all young females from reading Disney Comics. Also here some Italian writers have given to us new prospectives like Scarpa with the dynamic girl--journalist Paperetta Yè Yè and Casty with the female archaeologist Eurasia (and also Lars Jensen with the female chief agent Kolik).
And I replied to echo his call for more female characters...also naming Rosa's version of Matilda, Webbigail (as in the story "The Arcadian Urn"), and Madam Mim as possibilities for further development. There are some great Magica DeSpell stories that give her other dimensions, especially the Italian stories which give her family members and a world of her own. On another thread Lars Jensen mentioned his Velma Vanderduck (as well as Kolik) and his use of Belle Duck, whom I didn't know about, because the stories about her have never been published in English. So I bought a French Picsou that has three Belle Duck stories in it, and I agree, she's cool, too.
I've read several issues of the French marketed-to-girls Minnie Mag, and it's interesting to see what stories they used. Stories featuring Magica, stories starring Minnie or Daisy--sometimes romantic silliness, sometimes real adventures, the latter more often starring Minnie. For Daisy the best adventures seem to be the series on her ancestors in history: Claudia Salvatori's "Dai diari delle antenate" or Daisy's ancestors' diaries. Or a literary adaptation: Claudia Salvatori's duck parody of Alcott's Little Women (Piccole Papere) is kind of a hoot.

Yes, Mr. M, that's the sort of thing I'm thinking about, where Magica gets her own world. And though Magica is a villain in the sense that she is trying to steal something (of huge sentimental value to its owner), even in Barks she is often a partially sympathetic character (more so than Glomgold or the Beagle Boys), because one can't help empathizing with her frustration. Who has not at times desperately wanted something she/he couldn't get? It helps that her villainy is Disney-comic-villainy, where no one gets enduringly hurt. Foof bombs apparently wear off and leave no after-effects.

Yes, that Artibani/Cavazzano story was printed in the Magica DeSpell hardcover Big Black Book edited by David Gerstein. It was also printed in Minnie Mag.

I actually found Duck Tales Beagle Babes to be very funny and enjoyable female character... Sadly they only appear in one episode and almost reform at the end
