Perhaps my topic will be useless but I would like to express my hope and my envy that one day, maybe, there will be some music to accompany the big stories of Barks and Rosa.

I imagine a music for each episode of Scrooge's youth ; musics betraying the times and the feelings (for example, a western kind for The Vigilante of Pizen Bluff).

It would be wonderful.

I always imagined Donald singing 'The Screaming cowboy' to the tune of 'O-give me a home, where the Buffalo roam, and the Deer and the Anthelope play' (pardon my spelling). The lyricks have been attempted finished in several European fanzines.
What tune does the ghost of Notre Duck play on his flute in the original story?

That could make for an interesting topic: find all the songs appearing in the better known Disney comics and see what became of them in the different translations. In Germany, for instance, "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean" turned into "Gold und Silber lieb ich sehr", a traditional from the 19th century, the first verse of which translates like this:

I adore gold and silver
I really could make use of it
if I only had a whole sea
to dive in it

There IS an official recorded version of "The Screaming Cowboy"!
Disney wrote some additional lyrics and recorded it as part of a 1980s music album, PARDNERS, where it was featured together with other Wild West-themed Disney songs.

The author knew his stuff: the music is definitely played "jug band" style, with jug band style yodeling that might really cause an avalanche!

You remember correctly... it's from the 50 years anniversary of the Disney/Egmont contract in 1998. The lyrics are printed in the anniversary book.
