I am obviously talking of this.
I've seen Barks' sketches and read Rosa's finished version. Does anybody know this one by Jippes? How does it end? Is it very different from Rosa's one? Can anybody post scans, please?

Please don't make scans of whole stories. And I can't make your link work.

Nope, it still doesn't work. Try marking the "Never show smilies as icons for this post" option in your post.

I tried to search on a Dutch Disney forum and found this: http://bb.mcdrake.nl/neddisney/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1362&hilit=Pied+piper
I tried to translate parts of the comment.
Gyro runs away in the end. Willie loses his lure because it gets stuck on the mast of the passing ship. The lure is coincidentally launched aimed at Scrooge's money bin, to attract the rats to the money bin (like Rosa's version).

Yes, we have an English language forum on McDrake.NL (McDrake International Forum), but it is its own, separate forum. It has almost no posting traffic right now, because our moderator limited prospective new members to registering ONLY by e-mailing him first, to receive a password (because of too much spamming by spammers when unlimited self-registration was allowed. We have about 30-35 members who can post there (mostly members of THIS forum, and also a few Dutch members of McDrake's Dutch (main) forum, who don't post here. The problem has been, lately, that everyone goes there, sees that no one is posting, and, so, leaves, without posting. So people look in later and see that no one is posting. McDuck Menu and I made a few posts in the forum's revival, a few months ago. But no one else posted. So we went dead again.
Please come there and post!!! Ask your questions about Dutch books.

That is a shame that forum isn't running anymore. Is there really a Daan Jippes version of the Pied Piper of Duckburg? How different is it from the Don Rosa version?

The first three pages are essentially the same in both versions, after that they take completely different turns. No wonder, since Carl Barks never wrote down anything about what happens after page 3.

I like Jippes' artwork much better, and also like his story writing (e.g. pages starting with 4 and onward) better. It is much more "Barkslike" to my taste.

Actually, he did. A few lines on how the story originally would have ended have survived.
They were among the papers sold by Jerry Weist on eBay a few years ago.
(Seen it myself.)

Did Jippes follow what Barks had written down? I know that Rosa did not.

Rob: Daan was not aware of what Barks wrote, as he did his version before the Barks estate sold those papers.
