This year we can celebrate the 25th anniversary for Don Rosa's first official Disney-story - The Son of the Sun.

Unfortunately American comics aren't dated properly like we are used to here in Europe. Gladstone??s #219 is dated "July 1987" on the cover, but obviously based on an add INDUCKS/COA has dated its release to April 7th 1987. So what is the correct date for this anniversary? Was that issue really available anywhere on April 7th 1987? Or did it become available sometime later? If so, when was it first de facto available?

To further complicate things, comic shops would usually get the books a month before newsstands would.
I remember reading this story when it first was released. Rosa did some good stories, but I always preferred the Barks reprints and stories by the likes of William Van Horn, Daan Jippes, Fred Milton, Ben Verhagen and Volker Reiche that Gladstone ran over Rosa's work, to be honest. I wish I'd hung on to my old Gladstones.
