I have a question regarding story H 26177. What are the mail man and the news man saying in panel 4 and 5 on page one? I'm not sure if the German text (containing a political statement) is the intended text by the author. The scans on INDUCKS are to small for reading. Does anyone have the story from Finland or the Netherlands?

The German one:

Mail man: "Duckburg Energy Company! We need to raise your monthly bill for some reason. Don't ask why. It would make you angry."
Letter: "Monthly bill: old: $75, new: $250"

News man: "News in brief: huge profit for the Energy Company. CEO get's one million as bonus."
Donald: "Turn it off before it get a short circuit."

Actually, 1930s Taliaferro, 1940s Barks, 1950s Scarpa and 1960s Perego (maybe also Massimo Dotta, but I'm not sure) used to draw so.

Dutch version:
Mail man: "Duckburg Energy Company! Because you used 2% LESS energy this year, we raised your monthly advance payment with 20%!"

News man: "Latest news: because of the high profit, the Energy Company's CEO Mr. Volta gets a bonus of one million!"
Donald: "Dewey, turn off that tv! It costs a fortune on electricity!"

Thank you! So it's basicly the same. Interesting.

The Dutch is better, I think??and more cynical. Upon slapping Donald with the extra charge, the messenger cheerfully feeds him the kind of bureaucratic non-reason "reason" one would be given in real life.

It looks like the English version is almost explaining the joke instead of making it! Which is funny too, in a way.
